I was visiting my cousin one year in California and happened to come upon some Hmong people at a grocery store and just smile and said hi to them. They gave me this weird look and did not smile or say anything back to me.

Back in the day when hmongs were less strangers to each other becuase there was less of us.. they would tallk to you and "who koj"...
That doesn't really happen anymore.

california peeps think they chinese! speak hmong to them and they pretend you're speaking an alien language.
i remember a time, going back to cali...they saw tatts on my arm and asked me what i claim...i told them, "yo'momma!" yeap, they better recognize who they daddy is! :2funny:

Whenever the person behind the counter stares at you and doesn't say hi or smile.
