College Life / College folks... Question for you.
« on: January 13, 2015, 09:36:43 PM »
If you're going to college [or not], see if you can answer this...

Pretend you're a professor or instructor and you're teaching a first year class.  You have several students who came to class on the first and second days, but then stopped coming.  They haven't turned in any assignments either.  They didn't drop out of your class.

Question is:
1.  Why do you think they'd do this?
2.  Do you think there's any way you can motivate them to come to class?  Perhaps call them and ask?  What would you ask?

alot of users are going to facebook.  this site has an advantage because its public while facebook is known for posting for friends.  its time to take a look at facebook and incorporate the best into this place to draw new users instead of losing old ones...

i say start with an " attach a picture" option to posts to make it convenient for users to add pictures to their posts.  that will save time and make it easier to share pictures.

just to clarify,  the current setup requires link to pictures so the site needs a pix hosting option. imo.

Okay, here's the situation.

I want to have 4 monitors connected to 1 computer.  One will be facing me at all time. The one facing me should always stay on so I can see everything on it.  The other 3 are placed in a room facing the test subject.  One on his left, one infront of him and one on his right.  I'd like to be able to make it so that only one monitor in the room comes on at a time.  So, if I want the subject to watch the monitor on the right, I'd like to turn that one on with just a switch.  If I want the subject to turn left, I'd switch that one on and the other one should switch off.

I've tried using a monitor switch box which diverts the signal to the monitor I want; however, when the other monitors don't get a signal, their "no signal detected" sign pops up and that's distracting to the subject. I need a way to keep that from coming on.

What's a good solution?

Need good answers to the following interview question:

A user logs this service request ticket:
“This morning I've been working in my Curriculum SharePoint page and I've had a problem moving a file that I've already created into a folder”

Describe steps and methods to troubleshoot/fix the problem.

Sounds alot like security problem, but don't forget, you're dealing with a user and sometimes they don't understand what they're talking about too so you have to start with the assumption that they don't know anything.  So, what kind of questions should you ask to get you to the right answer quickly?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
