Last week, Mom gave me some Hmong herbs from her garden to eat and to plant. The ones that I eat, I do a good wash and then freeze it plastic bags so that when I have a craving, I just pull one out and add it to my chicken.

A small scoop of really hot dried peppers. Hits the spot all the time.

I buy my peppers grounded from the Asian market and put it in one of these containers (it was previously a loose leaf tea jar with wooden scoop).

Aww this made me think of my mom. What a wonderful dish. You must be a great mother, personally I believe these humble dishes are what builds great character. No matter how much we make and where we go there will always be that lingering taste that reminds us of simpler days with our family. We were poor, but we had each other.
