I've recently been under attack for providing "false" information and it hurts somewhat. Anyway, here's a real list of Hmong with doctorate degrees in the United States (I apologize for the crappiness of the scan, but you can zoom in):

There's 17 different types of doctorate degrees represented:
Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy)
J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence)
Ed.D. (Doctor of Education)
M.D. (Doctor of Medicine)
Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy)
Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology)
D.Min. (Doctor of Ministry)
Th.D. (Doctor of Theology)
D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery)
D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic)
D.P.M. (Doctor of Podiatry Medicine)
O.M.D (Doctor of Oriental Medicine)
N.D. (Doctor of Naturopathic)
M.P.H. (Master of Public Health)
O.D. (Doctor of Optometry)
D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy)
D.B.A. (Doctor of Business Administration)

I don't know if Th.D is considered a doctorate. You could say I have a doctor degree in palm reading. That's what a doctor degree in theology is like. I was asking about the Ph.Ds. What fields are they in?

When you count the number of Hmong doctorates,
I think it would only make sense to include:
M.D, and Ph.D.
It is tempting to include D.D.S.

My cousin is on there but there are a gazillion Hmong w/her same name. LOL. So the list may not be real.

the list are missing lots of name i guess....
cus i know my uncle has a J.D. his name is not on the list. ;D

The guy who compiled the list, Victor Yang, didn't claim the list to be complete. He said that if anyone wishes to add to it can contact him.
Hurry so they can all get their happy meals!

It hard to read from the list but I see a few names that I know and then there are some that I want to check up on because thier Ph.D or advanced degree is just from a correspondence school which I never look at thier degree as accrediated or what they can do with it in the real world even though they still prefer to be called Doctor.

BP...did you consider...(pun intended) that the list is old and therefore irrelevant?

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Its a great list! Gotta use the data that you have and its as thorough as it can be! I recognize many names and agree with madcow that this list is real. Hopefully in the near future I can add my name to that list too! Is there contact information for Victor, so that others with doctorate degrees who are missing can be added? ;D Again...thanks 4 sharing!

Out of the thousands and thousands of hmong in the U.S. only that many have their Doctorates ??

I'm sure the list is missing many more names, as there are two doctors that I know of who's not on the list. However, I do see my husband on there.

How updated is this list because we have a few friends who has their PhD but not on the list nor is my B.I.L?

I don't know how and where Xanga is getting this information from, but they sure did missed a lot of Hmong people I also know.
the list was not compiled by Xanga. Xanga is a blogging site and the link to is to Buridan Paradox's personal Xanga site where he happened to blog the info. hope this helps w/ the confusion.
