I lived 3 hour away from a burning man event and I have no intention of going. First off, it is for the elite and entitled people and overpriced for the commoners. Secondly, I wouldn't want to do camping out there in a dust storm and say it's fun. I did however went to Reno and stayed at a resort casino during their events and there, I found some fake hippies. They dressed like they were going to the burner and perhaps they did but they need to head back into town to take their showers. Like What?
The whole experience is like the story of Moses and his people. When he went missing up them mountains, his followers below would make their own god and partied and having tabooed sex and being sinful with everyone else. At the burner, they created this big guy out of wood hence why they are calling it the burning man and they would lit it on fire. It is for spiritual hoopla if you want to go that route but to reach there, you will need to eat some shroom and do some drugs.
Not my type of crowd. I have seen pictures of the event and as a once upon a horn dog myself, you will get to see a lot of naked bodies there. Top executives of the silicon valley are frequent visitors there but they have their own private jets to take them there and are staying in resort style makeshift camps. One can say that most are poser and are ruining the scene.
