a lot of veggie, you can regrow them
as long as you don't harm the root and base
it will keep reproducing
here i have some green onion that i bought from walmart
cut 2-3 inches off the base
(we use these, so we don't grow from seed and it takes less time)

some of them already start regrowing back, (bought some 1-2 week ago keep the root on the counter)

A lot of veggies at the store can be regrown
As long as the root and base is still good
If you look closely at PIC 2
It has already started regrown back
From just chilling in the counter
It will grow back even faster if you put it in the water or dirt

But the stems and leaves don't have the same flavors as the bulbs and roots. A squirrel soup won't be good without those. A fish dish won't be any good with just the stems and leaves alone.

So, I water every plant in every corner of a garden and lawn.
