Florida Highway Patrol officer caught on video racing against Lamborghini

A Florida Highway Patrol officer is in hot water after video showing him apparently racing a Lamborghini Aventador with his police car hit Instagram this week. The clip was posted on Monday to #JustLivinIt, an account run by the CEO of Arivo, a luxury car livery service that operates in New York. The timeline is full of images of Lamborghinis, and also a life lesson from Will Smith. According to WINK news, the video was recorded three years ago. It’s since been deleted, but remains on WINK’s website. Shot from the inside of a second Aventador, it shows the Dodge Charger patrol car and the Italian supercar with New York tags cruising along next to each other before the drivers hit their accelerators ...

Good Samaritans hit by car while helping man in Stockton crash

One was pushed over freeway bridge into canal, still missing

STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) — Two good Samaritans were hit by a car on Interstate 5 late Saturday night while attempting to help a driver stopped on the highway.

One Samaritan, a man, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second, a woman, is missing after being pushed over the freeway bridge into the Deep Water Channel, police believe.

Family members identified the woman as 25-year-old Doris Wilson. She is the mother of two young boys.

“I just want them to find her and get her out that water,” Doris' mom, Denise Brooks said.

"It’s hard. All we can do is pray. Just wish that God will let us know where she at,” Doris' Uncle Ivan Williams said.

I've said it many times in the past and I'll say it again:

It's OK to let go of the bad aspects that's not relevant anymore and in some cases, illegal and keep the good aspects of our Hmong traditions/cultural practices to move forward with...

That Hmong guy is correct that when Hmong can't let go of primitive practices, and act like primitive primates, others do labeled Hmong people as "dog"...

Regardless of race/ethnic groups, I think most if not all have good and bad tradition/cultural practice aspects but some just does a better job of letting go of the bad so they can progress with the good...

Record payout approved for Simi Valley man wrongfully convicted of grisly 1978 murders

For years, from inside a cell at Folsom State Prison, Craig Coley couldn't get anyone to listen.
But his message was clear and consistent: He was innocent. The killer who actually raped, beat and strangled his ex-girlfriend and smothered her 4-year-old son in her Simi Valley apartment Nov. 11, 1978, was still out there.
"I couldn't get anybody's ear," Coley recalled. "They were done, they put me away and they were moving on to other things."
Now, nearly 40 years later, the 70-year-old man has a slew of powerful voices behind him as he fights to correct the injustice of having spent more than half of his life in prison for a grisly double murder he didn't commit.

Grandmother turns in teen after finding mass shooting plot one day before Florida massacre

A woman prevented a potential tragedy this week when she reported her 18-year-old grandson to police after learning of his plot to carry out a mass shooting at his high school.

Everett police in Washington state arrested 18-year-old Joshua Alexander O'Connor at ACES High School on Tuesday, on suspicion of attempted murder. The arrest was made after O'Connor's grandmother called 911 and turned in a notebook where he had detailed plans to use homemade explosives and shoot students at his school.

"I need to make this count," O’Connor reportedly wrote in the journal. "I’ve been reviewing many mass shootings/bombings (and attempted bombings) I’m learning from past shooters/bombers mistakes."

O'Connor also reportedly noted that he wanted the death count to be high so he would be infamous. Court papers also detail that his discovered notebook included instructions about making pressure-cooker bombs and grenades.

They don't mess around with public security there...:

Gas pumps bolted right on the sidewalk...:

Seem like smoking among European girls are still pretty high and much more common than American girls in the states, and smoking is allowed at Disney Paris, not just in designated smoking areas like the Disney parks in the States:

Similar to here, most of the people getting arrested are Blacks and most of the Law Enforcers are White per capita...These Black guys got busted for selling souvenirs without proper authorization and/or license...:

This Black souvenirs seller is targeting Asian tourists because they are easy targets in their eyes:

When you buy a used vehicle, you can save a lot of money but unless you know where it's been and how it's been taken care of, it's a good idea to replace all the fluids especially those that can't be easily check visually and especially for a vehicle that has 180k miles when you bought it...

I spent a good amount of time to freshen up my Taco over the weekend but I probably saved about 500 dollars in labor cost vs. if I would have dropped it off at the dealership...P lus I know it's done right and all the bolts are torque to specs... O0

Replaced the spark plugs and glad I did because all 6 plugs were out of specs but didn't look too bad visually. The dealership wanted 200 bucks to do this job (I say F that as I spent less than 30 bucks on parts and an hour of my time to get it done  ;D):

Cleaning the throttle body and mass air flow sensor was pretty simple...:

Replaced a cracked ventilation hose so figured I replaced the PCV valve too as I did't want to risk the rear oil seal blowing out and start leaking oil:

This is one of the cleanest motor oil change I've done mainly because the filter is on top. The oil pan drain plug looks smaller than the one on my 99 Taco.. ???:

Besides the motor oil, I also changed the manual transmission fluid as well as front and rear differential fluids because it's a 4x4. It's especially important to change those fluids because it's not easy to visually check it like coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid...:

Tranny, and differential fluids fill against gravity so I had to buy this little pump to help me:

Gotta have a torque wrench so everything can be tighty up just right...even a cheaper one I got from Harbor Freight will do:

Chloe Kim’s Dad Celebrates The ‘American Dream’ After 17-Year-Old’s Gold Medal Win

The father of U.S. snowboarding sensation Chloe Kim had a message for reporters after her spectacular Olympic gold medal win on Tuesday.

Pointing to himself, Kim Jong-jin said “American dream” before letting out a cheer, according to The Associated Press. A day earlier, the elder Kim told the “Today” show that his daughter was his American dream. It was a sentiment that had moved many fans to tears.

The younger Kim, who dominated women’s snowboard halfpipe event on Tuesday, told reporters after her victory that she “did it for my family.”

“My dad has definitely sacrificed a lot for me and I don’t know if I could do it, if I was in his shoes,” the 17-year-old said, according to Reuters. “Leaving your life behind and chasing this dream because your kid is passionate about this sport. I think today I did it for my family and I am so grateful to them.”

Kim’s dad, who emigrated from South Korea to California in 1982, quit his engineering job about a decade ago to support his daughter’s budding snowboarding career. Since then, he’s devoted himself to helping her succeed ― though he’s downplayed his sacrifices as “normal for all parents.”

When Kim was in middle school, her dad would drive her six hours to Mammoth Mountain every weekend so she could train there.

“What would happen is that he would carry me out of bed,” Kim recalled in a 2016 interview. “I would wake up in a new spot every time without even knowing what happened.”

When they got to the mountain, Kim’s dad would strap on his own board and ride by her side. “He never knew much about snowboarding, but he did everything he could,” Tommy Czeschin, a former U.S. Snowboarding coach, told Bleacher Report last month.

On Tuesday, Kim’s parents and extended family, including her 75-year-old grandmother, were there to watch the teen clinch the gold medal at Phoenix Snow Park in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

“To see Chloe compete in the Olympics, it’s going to be very exciting and happy,” her mom, Boran Kim, told The New York Times in the days leading up to the event. “I think it will be the best moment of my whole life.”

Kim’s dad won hearts with a handmade ― and laminated ― sign that he held up during his daughter’s runs. According to NBC, the poster was given to him by young snowboarders from California’s Mountain High resort, where his daughter used to ride and compete.

The elder Kim told NBC that, before Tuesday’s event, he texted his daughter, “Today is the day imugi turns to dragon,” a reference to a Korean legend.

“She was born in year of dragon,” he said. “To be a dragon in Korean tradition is to wait 1,000 years. Before [you are] a simple snake, like an anaconda. But they wait about 1,000 years, and then they turn to dragon. Go to the sky, and they make a big dragon with a gold pearl. She’s got a gold pearl in her mouth. I texted her this morning that this is the time to be dragon.”

“It turned out pretty well,” the younger Kim later told NBC. “If I’m a dragon, I’m down.”

I used to work in the food service industry and I've never look at tip as a requirement... Unless it clearly stated before hand like for some large parties before they dine in...Tip or not I still show up and do the my job the same so getting mad over something that a customer is not required to do is the last thing on my mind...:

A server was mad when a church didn’t tip her for a $735 order. Now she’s fired for complaining on social media

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) - A Palm Beach County restaurant employee was fired after she took her anger over not being tipped on a large takeout order to social media.

Christ Fellowship Church, also in Palm Beach Gardens, placed the $735 order to be picked up at a nearby Outback Steakhouse, Wednesday.

A volunteer went to pick it all up — and server Tamlynn Yoder was there to help out.

“I brought it out, put it in the car. We received the payment. there was no gratuity,” said Yoder.

Next stop for Yoder was her social media platform. “I got upset. I posted a post on Facebook about the church not leaving a gratuity tip,” she said.
