What is the one dish that you are great at making? It doesn't have to be something you like, but you know how to make it perfect or near perfect.

Steam white rice...just follow the water line inside the cylinder or use your finger (be sure always use the same finger)... ;)

Automotive Discussion / Re: New Toyota Camry LE
« on: May 16, 2016, 09:14:52 AM »
Is this price for a new Camry LE too much?

24539.00?

MSRP is only around 23000.00 but this dealer is selling it that higher price, would you buy it at that price?

Depends, hard to say without seeing it...some dealers tag on destination charge, add accessories, etc., so just depends..

What's the name of the dealership?

« on: May 12, 2016, 06:42:35 PM »
UPDATE: The two suspects who made the hit on Kor Yang has been identified and one arrested, see link below for full story.

Joe Vang, 25, is also wanted for the murdered of Kor Yang, if you know where he is, don't hide him, don't assist him, don't help him even if you are related to him or not, but call police at 920-686-6500. :police:

Yep!

If Joe Vang's family is hiding and harboring him, I hope they do the right thing by turning him in. Even if he is my family member, I would turn him in ASAP....

LOL guys! So guys don't try to look their best on the first dates is what I get from most of the comments, why is that?

She not worth getting to know?

Again, depends on who she is...or which date she is...

21171
First impressions are important, don't you think? You don't go on a first date in rages and a tattered broken down pair of shoes, do you? How about body odor, you shower/bathe?

Now if you are trying to send the wrong impression, then I understand LOL but usually people dress nicer and well mannered than usual.

How many first dates have you had and is it different each time?

That depends on my "date" so yes it is "different each time" with a new date or repeat date...,

Had an old Corolla and I went to the supermarket.  Coming out, I was on the phone looking for something on it while walking to my car.  Took my keys out and put keys into the driver door keyway.  It was sort of hard to turn the cylinder to open but i used a little force and it opened.  Sat in the driver seat and proceeded to to lay my phone down while inserting the key into the ignition.  Again, I was having a hard time turning the ignition forward to start the car so I used a little more force and was able to start the car.  As I begin to fasten my seat belt on and proceeded to put the car into reverse, I noticed something odd.  My seat covers was not there anymore and looks like someone had gone through my car.  I panic and stop from reversing to gather my thoughts and see what have been taken from my car.  This was the moment when I realize that over to my left side, was my car and I had gotten into the car of another person's vehicle.  I got scared and got out and quickly went into my car and drove off.

Forget about those guys in the movie, "Gone in 60 seconds"..

You are so good that you can easily break into a car without even thinking about it... O0 ;D

I do admit I live a shelter life. But how long has this sort of thing being going on? And what is driving our Hmong sisters to do this?

Long time, even back in Laos, I've heard of it...."money is the root of all evil..".

Hmong Culture & History / Re: Hmong Bigotry in Gay Marriage...

What are the parent's reaction when they saw their son is gay? I wonder how would the elders react...

Depends, like the general population, some are against it, some are for it so just depends...

Hey, are Hmong still practicing the 'you-can't-marry-same-surname?'

Some "still" do but some have progress and moved forward from it like the Chinese and Koreans did decades ago...

Lebanon Ford, in Lebanon, Ohio, wants to sell you a 727-horsepower Mustang GT with a Phase 2 Supercharger for exactly $39,995. Somehow, that price is full-delivered. The obvious question is: how the hell is that even possible? Well, there are three components to a custom car: the vehicle, the additional parts, and the labor to install the latter into the former. Because a brand-new Mustang GT costs no less than $32,395 and Roush lists a Phase 2 supercharger kit for $7,549.99, we called the sales department to see how they were doing the math.

Charlie Watson is the Roush parts manager and says the dealer's amazing $39,995 price for a 727-horsepower Mustang is part of a decision they made "to focus on establishing a nationwide base of enthusiasts (note: they'll ship anywhere) rather than making huge profits on each car." By squeezing numbers on each of the three aforementioned components—Mustang GT MSRP, Roush Phase 2 supercharger MSRP and labor—Lebanon Ford is able to get cars out the door for under $40k and still make a little money.

Uuuuh, that is in MN. It doesn't apply to ALL Hmong people. I promise you, that is only one state in our community. I still find Hmong people to be a bigot and since that is only one state, have the others heard it in California, Oregon, and North Dakota?

It doesn't matter. In fact given the number of Hmong in mn, that's even better...can't "promise" they will deny it anymore..

As far as other states go, I'm sure some are ok, others not like the general population...

Hmong 18 Council Modifies Traditional Guidelines To Include Gay Marriage

ST. PAUL, MN – Last week’s vote to legalize gay marriage was a historic moment in America, a decision that has sent some people into extreme lows while sending others into extremely flamboyant highs. The result has been controversiall y divisive among the American people, and in particular, among Hmong people. Just yesterday, the Hmong 18 Council gathered to discuss the ramifications of this new law, especially how to continue traditional marriage ceremonies now that gay marriage is part of the picture.
One large question looms in mind: What about the bride price, and how will that be affected? Theo Lor, a member of H18C, says, “Obviously, we can’t call it the bride price anymore if it’s two gay guys getting married. So we decided on a new phrase: Groom Price.”

But in the end, gay marriage in our culture is illegal.

Says who?

I bet if two gay Hmong got married, they won't get jail time or fined...

General Relationship / Re: Stroke Patient
« on: May 05, 2016, 03:05:27 PM »
Feel free to comment and advise on this topic...

My friend's father have a stroke last year.....story short; have a surgery and now left side is paralyze or said weak...his parent split up also......

Last time i visited, my buddy's father still able to walk slowly but with the support of a walker stand....and he repeat himself often.

Situation:
He is a stubborn person even before stroke, and after stroke is even worse my friend said.
When both him and his wife went to work, the oldman would walk out of the house leaving the front door UNLOCK...going for his walk....
He try talking to the oldman, oldman refuse to listen; everytime they talk; oldman would talk about suicide.....it's pretty hard to talk to the oldman.
His wife is fed up with it......so if the 4th time happen worse scenario they getting rob......that'll be the end of it.
My buddy is a traditional person and respect his elders dearly, but as a SON is it right for him to send his old man to the NURSING HOME? ADVISE

I try getting my buddy inputs too but do advise me so i can get him more info or any kind of help. O0

appreciate everyone comments  :D

If his father requires a higher level of care that he can't provide, I don't see any problems getting appropriate outside help. Also if his father is suffering and don't want to live anymore, it is also his father's choice to make...

Hmong Culture & History / Re: Will America return to Slavery?
« on: May 05, 2016, 01:01:03 AM »
Yes, only on robots. I wonder if that slavery constitution applies to robots as well. This is debatable, but I am quite sure that we abolished slavery already; yet, the chance of bringing it back to America will be unconstitution al--only for robots vs. man.

What's your opinion if you were replaced by a robot to do a job? How will you feel if you are replace by a machine?

I wonder what will happen if there are riots who will be screaming at a robot company for making them losing their own jobs. What is this, Metropolis in some anime?

Many jobs have already been replaced by "machine". I can deal with it as I understand that change is constant. If we ever get to the point where robots and machines become so reliable and efficient then we, humans may not need to work anymore except for the robot and machine making people of course...
