Is the Hmong doing marijuana farming in California doing it legally? What's the start up process? I feel like I want to get in on this cash crop too.

Look into laws.  Something about buying a permit for 99 plants legit business.

Cheap start up.  Need 70k only.  Get a few heads to invest.  First year take no profit since it's a start up but years after that, you be balling.

I know nothing you hear me?

The industry is a lot bigger than what most people think. Growing plants isn't the only thing. In my opinion, right now if someone wants to get into that industry,  they shouldn't try growing plants, because it will be hard starting up and having competition that's been established for years.

You'll need to have some upfront money.  You'll need to buy the land, cash only. Then you'll need money for the seeds, fertilizers, farming equipment. Then there's money you'll need to pay off the Sheriff and Game Wardens to turn their backs.  You'll also need to pay someone to watch your land and protect your crop from thieves.

What is the upfront cost to start up? How do I obtain a license?

The hype is losing steam so it's slowly dying out just like the chicken business back in the days.  But, for people that stay legit....w/ patience and focus, I'm sure they'll be fine many years from now.

I'm sure we all know someone who's been in the game of farming.
I would like to say that it's one to the biggest risk and reward. I know people who made millions, while some went into debt, destroying family ties and bonds.  Some resorted to stealing, avoid paying, owed tons of money and most start ups failed.
I think it's best if you stay away and money is not everything, especially fast money equal to fast spending.

my two cent is that the business will later consume you into greed and destroy everything you though you were and define you to be everything you didnt want to be. Good luck..

Waaaaaaaaaayyy yy back before the hype became a "hype"...someone introduced my husband and I to the business and we didn't really need to put alot of $$ to start.. but turn down the offer.  No, we don't regret...

If you're a moral person, don't do it.  You're breaking the law. If money is a priority for you then go ahead, you can make lots.  Keep in mind that if you're caught, they an confiscate your land and keep all the cash they find on you.

Not if you're doing it legally to the Tee... not one extra plant.
