Maybe I'm going crazy here. :idiot2: Can someone seriously tell me why 90% of hmong music videos have to be filmed outside in the grass, village, or in the hills? And not only that, the whole music video is filmed in that same spot or maybe offside to the sand, then onto the grass, and maybe on a tree stump.
Example:

Seriously, can you guys relate to the hillsides? I thought we lived in the 21st century.
-
I suppose so... that's no fun. LoL.
My favorite thing about songs are the music videos. I like maybe 1% of these songs. I'm hurt that I have to watch shitty country grass lands when I want to see something decent.

Tall girl in the back is cute.. O0
I think a lot of hmong folks over in SA still copy bollywood style movies or look up to them.
Just like how we here in the states look up to hollywood!
-
#2 they've been closed off to the real world... :-X

Okay.. sweetie you didn't have to POST TWICE!!! I get it that you like the tall girl in the back. LOL how about you and me go running through some tall rice field? :D

it's like a landmark... the ave. the street. the ally. it's the heartland. there should be rocky hills or mountains nearby, also.
-
At least they don't have to rent out the grassland. It's free so they're saving some money while shooting. You can't expect those Hmong celeberties over there to be shooting in the mall, on some nice hollywood stage when they're poor and still just farming for a living.
-
I guess because it's free? I don't really watch their music videos. I just listen to the lyrics and the music.
-
That's true what you guys said. It's free... I still can't fathom how they can make such shit quality. If I were in their shoes, I would commission the villagers to set a few "staged" areas to film and know exactly where and how I'm going to film it while having the vision in my mind. The end result is a high quality product. Professional product = more sales. More sales = more $$ to invest. The business model is really not that hard. LOL. I'm complaining~ (without realizing)
:2funny:
I really want to see them dance on the straw roofs in HD 1080. IMAGINE that... soo badass... Imagine them dancing on the roof and kicking straws up to their knees. And then the camera pans in from the top with them still dancing on the roof. Next scene, a front view of the house, two hmong guys somersault criss crossing the screen, the singer wearing sunglasses walks by smoothly with a bunch of girls trying to feed him watermelon. Camera cuts in to a close up, (in slow-mo) he bites a piece of watermelon, laughs, and wears a carefree smile.
Tsk. So cool. :D I would watch. Definitely.
My idea was kind of inspired by this video:

If only Hmong people were into Robotech (Macross) now that would be a total change in scenery. O0
-
Ha.

I guess it's just within our culture to do that. Lol I do think it's slowly changing though. There's a couple Hmong MVs I see filmed in grassy hills or within a grassy scene, but I think it's changing. I think the ones who are always singing in the grassy hills are probably older singers, which makes sense. Most modern/new gen Hmong singers I see are being filmed somewhere else different than plain grassy hills.
