Title: Scary robbery attempt in Alabama gas station.
Post by: YAX on July 09, 2019, 10:18:32 PM
Guy tries to rob the store with a long knife, clerk responds with a machete of his own.  They get into a knife fight, clerk locks the door, guy breaks through, his gf was outside with a weapon too so clerk slashes her in the leg, smashes their car and when she tried to fight back, he smites her head. ( Hey, wow, I get to use the word SMITE finally and it fits naturally in this scenario).

That's one dedicated clerk...must be a family business.

Being in the family business...unc le told me...gun is here under register aluminum bat is here.  Use it if you need to...never leave register unattended even if customer asks for help in back of store.  I was just a kid. like 12 yrs old.

And machete are dull as heck...one of the most useless weapon in a real fight.

Come to a fight with a survival knife and you will get owned by an actual bayonet.  And if it comes to actual hand to hand combat.  That military issued folding spade is even more useful than your bayonet alone.  When the spade is at full deployment.  It's multi-function as an arm gauntlet operates as a shield and attack weapon at hacking or poking.  Depends on how you hold it in use.

If you want the money...I'll let you have it...probably a full roll of coins to the face...

A long time ago, shortly after college graduation, I worked at a bank. We all were called into a room during an orientation.

"If a robber comes in and demands money, give him all of the money he wanted," the boss said. "But also this stack."

There was a stack of old mixed bills worth $150.00 that had tracking devices on them.

"And don't try to be a hero by stopping the robber."

what idiot protects it's convenience store with a machete.  if one is protecting their property at all cost, such in this video...use a gun!

it would have been wiser to let the robber get away and file an insurance claim..."yeap, he took $2million out of cash register!" ha!

Yes, in most places I worked with, we had the tracker money stack as well.  That's the one reality in life that often don't get portrayed in movies...

People see movies...they think must work in real life.  There are more and more of these kind of people around now.

i used to work in RETAIL LOSS PREVENTION
if we see people stealing stuff on camera
people going to self checkout and faking scanning

we don't do anything
don't even go up and confront the customer
the store is already making big money $$$
those $20 shoe, yeah it only cost $2-3 to make

sometimes people return empty boxes back to the store for refund
oh well, we lose

but that's OK

the store is already making big money $$$$ on the other stuff in the store
we just write it off

I have been in situations where 911 were used...cops showed up 2 1/2 hours later...well.  That's how it works when real chit goes down.

When it wasn't so important...wo w they showed up withing 10 minutes.   Funny how that works.

i will tell you a secret
a lot of those display TV, monitor, shoes, clothing, etc....
they get thrown in the trash after their display
it's too dirty and nasty to resell them afterward

sometimes, the worker take it home
i let it go

Well, by law...there's some legality with just tossing electronics into the dumpster.  Not everything is just dumpster material.  Dumpsters Diving and inside jobs are part of the criminal ways.  I know when I first got to this country and we were very poor.  Dumpster Diving was one of the things we did.  One can score beds, couches, tables chairs even bicycles.  Yes, they be slightly damaged, but still works.

Some police stations aren't that responsive.

Most definitely true.  We know about that coffee shop from across the police station.  Station at Rice and Arlington at that time.  The coffee shop was robbed at gunpoint.  The cops from across the street never noticed and never responded and the crooks got away clean...

My brother used to deliver stuff for a meat company.  They'd load extra sausages, ribs, etc into their trucks.  At the end of the night, anything left over goes home with them.
