Faded memories that were lost in time
Foreshadowings that should have been a sign

Living life joyously and free
Ignoring everything that was around me

You were kind, intelligent, and generous
All of this must have been onerous

I loved, honored, and idolized you
My love was bountiful through and true

You left me, then you let me fall
Now I've built this unyielding wall

I don't know how to ever let go
I know I am my own worst foe

No matter what, I love you still
My heart is broken, but not my will

Even though, you are gone
What remains is a despondent song
