« on: October 28, 2015, 11:19:34 PM »you could use 2x4s and plywood to frame the floor then carpet over. or just pad and carpet over concrete. for framing walls use 2x4s and a heavy duty power tool to drill wood to concrete. build the frame on the ground, lift against concrete wall then drill thru to secure.
i'm renovating a room in the basement to a theater room. building a soffit drywall ceiling and drop down ceiling. my advice is to draw out a floor plan with sq footage to help you get an idea of how much materials are needed. build your frames, run cables and wires where needed then put up the drywall. 1/2" moisture proof drywall or 3/4" and greater for fire rated.

Yeah, that's my plan too. Sectioned off for a home theater room w/bar, bedroom, 1/2bath, laundry room plus storage area. I don't have issue with wall since the frames are already there plus insulation. I'm just worry that if I only use padding and carpet, it might get too cold in winter time.
