If flourocarbon is invisible, why worry about line size?
« on: July 21, 2024, 12:45:40 PM »
Sure, I wouldn't use a 6-lb line on a carp or sturgeon or even a musky or pike. But why would
it be a problem if I used a 50-lb line for crappies? After all,
they won't be able to see the line; they'll focus on just
the bait.

LOL...well there are some fish who can't see glass and will swim straight into the end of the tank.

...and then there are fish that see two trebles on a lure and will still bite it.  Just like that one fish that likes to bite on a bare shiny gold hook.

Then it doesn't have to be a flourocarbon quality afterall. :2funny:

you don’t need 50 lbs line to fish these weak ass inland fish

i caught many big fish on 4 lbs
just take your time 3-4 plus minutes and tired them out
they will belly flop
and you just easy mode log reel in

 ;D ;D ;D

i caught many big fish this way on my ultra light setup

I've found thistle flower bulbs in the
stomachs of largemouths.

I've seen pebbles and small sticks in them, too.

We don't make catfish poop soup because
we know what they swallow.

People think fish and other animals see like how human eyes see.  Nope.

The biggest thing about fish seeing if more about light and dark, rather light source.

Since fish don't have hands to feel like humans, they have a mouth to grab and feel things.  So when they grab your lure to feel it...set the hook on them.  O0  That fish never saw that coming.  :D

I have been swimming. When I'm  under the water, I could hear noises and feel vibrations
of things that move. I think fish feel and hear the same things.

So, when a bug or any item moves in the water, the fish will  notice where they are
shaking from and will feel the vibrations to know how big and far they are.

Yeah. I've caught some fish where they hooks
pierced from outside the mouth and even on the belly.
I guess those fish were testing only but I got ahead of them. :2funny: :2funny:

When I was a kid and my kid brother was catching fish, many times hooked all weird places other than mouth.  Hook in the eye, in the nostrils, on the back fin, in the chin/outside throat,  even on the side fins.  Does the fish not bite your hook?  ;D
