Hong Kong is a vibrant city chock-full of people — so much so that the quality of life for those at the bottom tier is atrocious. And I’m not talking about, “Oh my goodness, I have to share a bathroom with my brother and sister.” I’m talking about up to 18 strangers being smashed into a tiny 625 square foot flat with just one toilet to share.

Whoa. Thanks for sharing.
I cannot imagine living like that...

Interesting...and pretty sad. But, a thought did occur to me about our own poverty here in America. I thought these people were pretty lucky, in a way, where they had a place to sleep and keep their belongings. There are homeless here in America that don't even have that - they sleep on street corners or benches with only newspapers as their blankets. It is pretty sad how these HK residents are living, but I was just thinking about America. What if American's created a place where it could provide such a shelter like that for the millions of homeless people - it would be nice, but of course, here in America, we have laws where all shall live equally, or not at all.....
Overall, pretty sad in all conditions. Wish everyone could just live truly in content, equally in all ways of life. I truly empathize and have compassion for people that have no place to truly call a home... :-[

When I was in Bejing, a whole dormitory had to share one bathroom. Not even 5 stalls, just 2 stalls. It was crazy.

Sad, knowing Hong Kong has the highest number of Rolls Royces per capita in the world.
