obamacare is good man
it allow you to have insurance if your workplace doesn’t offer
and insurance don’t discriminate if you have pre existing conditions
they gave out credit to help you pay for insurance too
but those high deductible $10k+ in some plan is a killer for many
So, basically it's the same as it was before... the only good thing is that Obamacare do not allow insurers to denied coverage for pre-existing condition (that could have been fixed with a Presidential EO). Obamacare took away people's ability to buy OTC meds with their FSA/HSA account and prefer doctors. It took the covid pandemic for the OTC buying to be re-instated.
I remember, I couldn't just go to any store to buy Tylenol or OTC med with my FSA... I had to go see a doctor and then have him write a prescription for the Tylenol or some other OTC med for me to use my FSA. And if you know anything about FSA, only $500 can be carry-over to the following year - anything above that amount, you lose it.
