For those who knows about cars, the car market today, and have good negotiating skills in negotiating for a car I’d greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!!!

I can’t wait to see the rematch of last year’s championship game between the United States 🇺🇸 and France 🇫🇷.

Congratulation s to the Clovis East High School boys volleyball team for winning the Northern California State Championship and being ranked number 3 in the nation out of nearly 3,000 teams. You guys are awesome!!! It’s so nice to see so many Hmong people coming out to the championship game.

« on: May 26, 2023, 11:13:51 AM »
I see so many Hmong high school students going to prestigious universities this year such as the fine young man from Merced High School going to Harvard on a full-ride scholarship.

Even though I go to San Francisco all the time for decades now and I’m often in the downtown and surrounding areas I’ve never visited Westfield Mall til last week. Also, even though I’ve heard of the name Bloomingdale’s and I know that it’s some kind of department store I know almost next to nothing about it. I thought it’s just some place like Kohl’s, JC Penney, or Macy’s. While I was in Westfield I thought I give Bloomingdale’s a visit.

First of all, the Bloomingdale’s location in San Francisco is huge with 6 floors. While in there, I thought of getting some shirts and pants so I went into the men’s section. As I look through some of the dressed shirts I almost choked. Almost all of the dressed shirts are like $300 a piece. They also have a a lot of t-shirts on the racks as well. A plain white t-shirt that probably costs at most $5 with the letters APC on it costs $115. I almost picked my boogers out of my nose and made a design on the shirt.

I was in San Francisco last week and I was dying for some good pho...but it seems like all the best pho places are in the Tenderloin District. My favorite pho place in San Francisco is pretty much in the heart of the Tenderloin by O’Farrell and Jones. Whenever I have friends and relatives out of state visiting and we go to San Francisco I always want to take them for pho in the Tenderloin...b ut I’m afraid of taking them there because some of them might get traumatized by what they see, especially the women.

General Discussion / Wow!!! St. Paul is even hotter than Merced?
« on: June 04, 2021, 05:43:21 PM »
The thing is it’s even worse. If St. Paul is 97 degrees...that is like Merced being 117 degrees.

I can handle 110 degrees in Merced...but I can’t handle 90 degrees in St. Paul.

Yes, right now I’m on my way going on a 2 hour trip just to see a movie.

And I think you guys know which movie I’m talking about too. I find it super puzzling that this movie is not even playing in a fairly big city like Fresno. As a matter of fact, even in the whole Sacramento region it only play in a single location at Elk Grove.

I haven’t been to a Hmong beauty pageant in ages. However, yesterday I was at the Merced New Year and because it was raining I went into the building where the pageant took place. I was busy enjoying my food and pay no attention to the pageant at all but I couldn’t help it but overheard when the girls were introduced going into the final round. I was very surprised that one of the girls was 27 years old and two of the were 29 years old.

Not only that but they have very impressive resumes as well. One of the girls have her master, works at the University of California Merced and going for Ph.D.

General Discussion / I love this...thought I share.

If I tell you I voted for Trump, what do you think I support? Be brutally honest.

My uncle has an IQ of about 65. He “graduated “ high school, aka social promotion. He has immersed himself in Fox News and Rush Limbaugh for 25 years. It’s very sad, but he’s not evil.

My brother has an English degree from a prestigious university. He rejects anthropogenic global warming. He embraces Ayn Randian economics. He calls Hillary Clinton a felon despite never even being charged with anything after hundreds of millions spent investigating. He calls Bill Clinton a rapist despite Lewinski saying that she “fell in love with her boss” and before going to DC confided that she wanted to get her “presidential knee-pads.” My brother rejects all info that disagrees with his racist, misogynist, xenophobic, anti-intellectual worldview. He works in a job that increases profits while spreading biased information. His work isn’t just useless; it is counterproduct ive. He goes to church. He thinks himself an expert on anything he spends ten seconds on. He’s both an example of Dunning-Kruger and a narcissist. He pats himself on the back. He seems like a nice guy. He’s not.

What do I think of Trump voters? They are all some combination of stupid and evil. Above are extreme examples of stupid and evil.

General Discussion / Do they have legitimate tour guide companies in Laos?
« on: November 21, 2019, 04:58:38 AM »
And which one would you recommend if you’d used one before? As a Hmong, it seems like going to Laos I’m more afraid of my own Hmong people than of Lao or other groups of people.
