As far as music genre goes, rap is not really my thing...but Duce Khan is by far my favorite show of the night. I love his lyrics, his passion, and his energy!!!

For doing it the very first time ever...I think it was excellent. I had a blast!!! I didn't think I would stay the whole day and night there but I did...right until "Hmong Tsis Hlub Hmoob Leej Twg Tseem Yuav Hlub Hmoob" was sang and done with it. I can't wait til next year's Hmong Music Festival!!!!!

Music Discussion / Anyone know how or where I can buy Sudden Rush CDs?

I want the actual CD with the CD case and jacket...not some download thing on the Internet. I've looked in the internet but can't find any information on how to get hold of their CDs.

If anyone has Sudden Rush's CD, could you please look at the CD jacket and the back to see if there's an address or telephone number on it so I can order some copies. Thanks and much appreciated.

It saddens me to not see Sudden Rush's name on the poster of the Hmong Music Festval in Fresno. I would pay the price of admission to see them sing a few songs. I have to say Sudden Rush is the most talented Hmong band today.

Books & Magazines / Arvind Adiga's new book "Last Man in Tower"

I can't wait to read Aravind Adiga's new book, "Last Man in Tower." It just came out yesterday (9/20/2011).

This young new East Indian writer is a phenomenal writer with great intelligence and insight. He is not afraid to tell things as it is by tackling all the cruel, disgusting, and depressing things in human societies that many people like to ignore or pretend it doesn't exist (especially when directing at their own people/country) while making you laugh at the same time. "The White Tiger", his first book is one of the best books I've ever read. It ranks right on top with the best Charles D!ckens classic novel. I was disappointed with his second book, "Between Assassinations", but just how is it possible to top or be as good or even half as good as "The White Tiger"?

Nevertheless, it's exciting for me to know that Aravind Adiga's new book is coming out and I'll get my hand on it this Friday. I just might dedicate my whole weekend this week reading "Last Man in Tower." If it's anything like "The White Tiger" I'll spend my upcoming weekend just ravishing that book, and yes, just imagine all the orgasms I'll get out of it.

After I read "The Brothers Karamazov" and then "Les Miserables" there was a deep and profound sadness in me because so many of the books I read afterward for so many years didn't come close to matching those two. I've read so many books after those two, including both classics and contemporary and everything in the publishing world. There were some good and even some really great ones too...but none came close to "The Brothers Karamazov" and "Les Miserables."

That is until "East of Eden" came along. I can feel alive and hopeful again.

Is the Hmong community supposed to be proud when a Hmong woman made it as a NBA dancer or an NFL cheerleader?

What if she made it as a big time pornstar like Tera Patrick making millions of dollars a year?

Oh...and by the way, Tera Patrick is half Thai...and she used to live in Fresno and even Merced...repre senting Asian pride and Merced.

This is one of the best book I've ever read. It's unlike anything I've ever read before.

Highly recommended... Aravind Adiga is a literary genius who's not afraid to offend anyone.
