It's important to pay close attention to someone's relationship history. If someone talks badly about an ex whom they've been with for a very long time then it's a big red flag. If their ex was that bad then why didn't they just end the relationship instead of letting it go on for years? 100% that they're still with the ex and is using you to cope with the ex whom they don't want to deal with at home, but won't leave. You're caught in the middle of their breakup phase, but as soon as they make up or things cool down, they'll ghost you or tell you that they're just too busy.
