How long does it take to feel like your new state is your home?

No but when we first moved to the east coast over 20 years ago it took about a year to 2. Maybe it would feel different today but back then it was hard. We were broke and we were all too young. Too much rednecks and blacks and not enough diversity.

You talking about state. Moving to a new city and adjusting is something too.

I think kids adapt faster, but for us OG's I'd say 10 years minimum. O0

we moved to our current location back in '94. didn't start to feel like home until I was married and had kids. still in the same city after 23 years.

States that I wouldn't mind moving to are: Oregon, Texas, N. Florida, N. Cali, and maybe MN(without the snow)

Oregon is nice but I wouldn't want to live there. Rain too much.

Came from Narleans. Hardest part as a kid is the friends and that cute girl in class I never say hi to.
Put work on hold just to moved to MN for 2 summer months like July 4 th months. Couldn't make it. Too much drama n Hmong women still looking for me right now. I had a fake Myspace account just for the occasion too.
A week into MN, I had a job ready for me. A supervisor at this one sandwich company that distro to your local gas station. It looks like a triangle packaging sandwiches you know? Free all u can eat in the fridge sandwiches from packaging defects but how much can you eat this you know?
Weekday I work, weekend I blowed checks. Sent my production manager a card on the day I left with a simple words, surprised and thank you for the opportunity. Can't remember the name of that company as I did not add it to my resume but it was in the city of chahanansan.. near Eden prairie.

I have never been there but I have heard of such stories. From the pictures it look so clean and green with a lot of outdoor activities O0. Northern Florida is beautiful also. From Panama city to Pensacola. I love it there. Everytime I visit I never want to leave :'(

Kids tend to forget easier because they come into contact with other kids at school and make new friends or find new crushes ;D

Usually 3 years to feel like a local. Otherwise, you'll be in a dreamy state most of the times. Losing your way, others act sound and act weird, you have many doubts and questions about why the locals do what they do, etc.
