Niners traded for McCaffery. Wow
-
Good trade IMO as Mccaffrey has connection to the Bay Area by playing at Stanford during his college days so it's kind of like a home coming...
He should be able to make immediate impact..
-
I agree. Big win for SF.

He is injured prone

49ers narrowly won Christian McCaffrey trade competition over two NFL teams
The 49ers won the bidding war for one of the best offensive weapons in football, but it came at a cost.
Christian McCaffrey officially is a member of the 49ers. The star running back landed in Santa Clara Friday morning, less than 15 miles away from his alma mater Stanford, and immediately expressed his excitement to be back in the Bay.
Coach Kyle Shanahan was all smiles in discussing the blockbuster trade during a radio interview Friday morning.
However, things could have taken a very different turn. And the expression on Shanahan's face would have been much different if things didn't happen the way they did.
Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer said he received three hard offers for McCaffrey.
"It was close, but San Francisco won out," Fitterer said during a press conference on Friday.
San Francisco's division rival, the Los Angeles Rams, was one of the teams pursuing the 26-year-old running back, but in an off-the-field competition between the two teams, the 49ers ultimately ended up on top.
It is unclear who the other team involved was, although it was reported last week that in addition to the 49ers and Rams, the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos also were interested in acquiring McCaffrey.
However, Denver never made a serious offer, and Bills GM Brandon Beane reportedly was protecting his team's first-round pick, per NFL insider Jonathan Jones.
The 49ers sent Carolina their 2023 second-, third- and fourth-round picks plus a fifth-round pick in 2024 in exchange for McCaffrey.
And while the trade could be seen as risky, Shanahan, 49ers general manager John Lynch and the rest of the team have the utmost confidence they made the right move.
-
His dad was a Niners so it’s fitting for the son. Good luck to rim.
He’s got plenty of gas in the tank.
-
My 9ers as a whole did not show up today. Sure they were the underdogs but gotta at least show up.
McCaffrey wasn't too bad average almost 5 yards per rush and 12 yards per catch considering he just got on board.
-
They started out okay but too much youth and Mahomes for the defense.
-
NO Deebo, no problem...Good win today for my 9ers. O0
-
Like I've said, CMC should be able to make immediate impact and he has done that thus far
Today's stats:
1 pass for 34 yards for a TD
94 rushing yards for 1 TD
55 receiving yards for 1 TD
Christian McCaffrey's unreal game vs. Rams shows all-around 49ers value
The 49ers traded for Christian McCaffrey because they knew he could be a game-changer on offense, even though they’ve found backfield success without big names in the past.
“I don’t think there’s anything he can’t do,” coach Kyle Shanahan said Oct. 21, the day after the trade. “Whether it’s the run game, pass game, blocking. I think he’s a very talented player, and just watching how he plays, he’s a very smart player.”
And in Sunday’s Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, the running back displayed exactly why San Francisco sent four future draft picks to the Carolina Panthers for him -- but not just through the ground attack the 49ers Faithful might have expected.
While described by some as a dual-threat rusher and pass-catcher, McCaffrey showed he’s an all-around phenom at SoFi Stadium with a passing touchdown in the game’s second quarter, a receiving touchdown in the third and a rushing touchdown in the fourth.
-
It’s why they play the game. On paper, I had the Rams winning.
-
Feels especially nice when the team we beat is a direct rival and we were a slight underdog..on the road.. O0

Sooo much for fake wanna be faithful

-
My 9ers gotta take care of business on the road tomorrow and get back on being first place..

Some of the stuff I've bought over the years in regards to my 9ers and yes, has to be the genuine NFL stuff too...O0:

Back in first place in the NFC west where we belong.. O0

Beating McCoy, so can’t get excited ;D

It's all about the "W".. O0
-
Jimmy G out for the season with a broken foot. That’s going to be tough for the Niners.
-
Yeah that's too bad...Looks like Jimmy G will continue to carry that "injured" label..
On a much happier note:
The Dolphins may strike first with a 75 yard home run on the very first play of the game but it's not how you start, it's how you finish and my Niners finished great..so great win. O0
-
No Jimmy G, Deebo was carted off the field early in the game, NO PROBLEM!!!
Did an awesome job spoiling Tom Brady's home coming moment..O0

Does your girlfriend the raider know you been cheating behind her back
But good or bad, Raiders Nation for life..and it's been that way for me since the 80s.. O0
-
We will see if the kid is for real in time.
-
Whiners #1 defense
I hate to believe it but gotta give credit where credit is due.
That virgin looking kid purdy did a good job but I hate to see him taking them whiners deep into the playoffs just to bench him for condom G.
If comdom G starts, I'm putting everything on the other team.

No Jimmy G, no Deebo, ...NO PROBLEM!
NFC West Champ!!! O0 O0 O0
-
Pretty good thus far for 262 O0:
Those doubts about his game ensured Purdy slipped down the draft process before he was eventually selected as the 262nd overall – and final – pick by the 49ers.
-
The true test will be in the post season. But the kid looks legit.
-
Yep...
The last pick of the 2022 NFL draft may have the last laugh once the dust settles... ???:
The 49ers took Purdy with the last pick of the 2022 NFL Draft (262nd overall) after a standout career at Iowa State.
-
Small program school that nobody cares about. Sometimes you’ll find a gem.
-
Niners is NFC West champ. First team to clinch a division title this season.
-
Agree with you, clinching the division is nice but it's the playoff that really counts...
-
Given the way my boys started this season with all those key injuries, happy with the number 2 seed.
Bring on the Seagulls because we already know Aaron Rodgers will choke as usual in the playoff if it's the Packers so the Packers did themselves a favor by not making the playoff. Hope my 9ers can go all the way... O0
-
Rodgers threw INTs and said that’s for you Packers’ fans lol
-
They crushed the Hawks. Geno who?
-
Cowgirls were our biggest rivals back in the 90s so should be good... O0
-
Yup, I remembered it like it was just yesterday.
-
Niners will probably need to grab one of the vet QB if they want to not have another meltdown in the QB room.
-
Besides my Raiders, there's a Las Vegas 49ers team too ;D:

Teams have been contacting the Niners for Trey Lance. Go get him Vikings.
-
Alright number 2 is set, lets get it on!!!:
49ers name QB Sam Darnold backup to Brock Purdy over Trey Lance, per report
The competition between Sam Darnold and Trey Lance to serve as Brock Purdy's backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers appears to be over. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Peliserro of NFL Network, Sam Darnold has won the job. #49ers QB Sam Darnold was named the team's No. 2 QB, per me and @TomPelissero.

-
Time for Lance to get out of town.
-
Big loss for my 9ers especially considering how much they gave up for that #3 draft slot:
"Cowboys acquiring QB Trey Lance in trade with 49ers
Quarterback Trey Lance was demoted and then traded in the same week.
The San Francisco 49ers agreed Friday to trade Lance to the Dallas Cowboys, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet official."
-
Good for him.
-
Nick Bosa could be traded next week. He is asking a lot and the Niners is preparing to trade him to an AFC team.
-
I doubt my 9ers will trade Bosa. He just came of a "Defensive Player of The Year" season and he's still young at 25 with plenty of playing years to come so I say pay the young man. O0
-
As long as they give him what he wants he will be ready for week 1.
-
If Purdy isn’t 100% or hurt. Your team is weak in the QB room.
-
That's Football as injuries is a common theme for many teams. With that said, SD has been around, he should be an adequate back-up QB until Purdy heals up.
-
YUP:
49ers reportedly sign DE Nick Bosa to massive 5-year, $170 million extension
The San Francisco 49ers and defensive end Nick Bosa reportedly agreed to a five-year, $170 million contract extension which includes $122.5 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It ends a 44-day holdout.
The deal will make Bosa the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history by average annual value after he led the NFL with 18.5 sacks and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. His $34 million annual salary is now ahead of Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald's $31.66 million annual salary and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt's $28 million.
Not only did Bosa lead the NFL in sacks this past season, he has the most sacks over the past two years with 34 and the sixth-most sacks since 2019 with 43. He missed most of the 2020 season after he tore his ACL in Week 2. Bosa has tallied 106 quarterback hits in the first four years of his career — third among all defensive players — as well. He won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2019 after the 49ers drafted him No. 2 overall out of Ohio State.
Bosa, who'll be 26 in October, held out for the entire 2023 training camp while he sought a new contract. The 49ers understood Bosa would likely skip training camp until the two sides agreed on an extension but adamantly denied they would trade Bosa away. Now, with Week 1 just days away, the 49ers have their star back in tow.
And according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, he's likely to play in Sunday's season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 49ers had the No. 1 defense in the NFL this past season after San Francisco allowed a league-low 16.3 points and 300.58 yards per game. Bosa was a big part of that. The team also added ex-Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave on a four-year, $84 million contract to bolster the interior of the defensive line.
The biggest loss, though, is defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans, who left to become the head coach of the Houston Texans this offseason. The 49ers hired former head coach Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator/interim head coach Steve Wilks as Ryans' replacement.
The loss of Ryans is big, but Bosa's return should make things a bit easier for the 49ers to build off their 2022 season. The main question mark will be under center and whether second-year quarterback Brock Purdy can continue to play as well as he did before an elbow injury derailed San Francisco's Super Bowl run.
-
Good team moves.
-
Proud of my 9ers, getting a win in a hostile environment on the road against a direct competitor. Keep it rolling boys! O0
-
They are currently one of the best team after week 2.
-
3-0 BABY!!!
Easily took care of those G-men.. O0
Sure it's been decades but us Faithful have not forgotten this hit on Montana:

5-0, so far so good...
Keep it rolling boys! O0
-
Losing two star key players during the game, made a bunch of mistakes and my boys still had a chance to win it at the end but kicker missed the 41 FG...
-
I have said it all along, Purdy is a system QB.
Will see how he perform without the stars.
-
It's unfortunate but key injuries are a fact of life in the NFL. It was our turn in week 5:
49ers injury updates on Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams
The 49ers had their first major brush with the injury bug in 2023 during their 19-17 loss to the Browns in Week 6.
During the game they lost running back Christian McCaffrey and wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Left tackle Trent Williams missed two plays with an ankle injury, but returned.
After the game Williams was seen in a walking boot and Samuel had x-rays that came back negative.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t have any updates immediately after the game, but provided some Monday in his conference call with reporters.
Here is all the latest:
Shanahan said Samuel got hurt on the first play of the game. He’s considered day-to-day with a left shoulder injury. That would indicate he avoided something major, but Shanahan didn’t specify what the ailment is. Samuel’s status for Week 7 in Minnesota is still up in the air.
McCaffrey was in MRIs when Shanahan talked with reporters. The head coach said there wasn’t any clarity on when McCaffrey sustained his rib/oblique injury. The team is unsure what exactly the injury is, but they’ll know once the MRI results are back. He is day-to-day.
Williams is considered day-to-day and avoided a high ankle sprain. That’s probably the best news the 49ers could’ve hoped for. His status for Monday night in Minnesota is unclear.
Greenlaw missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. It was a good sign when he practiced Friday, but the team listed him as questionable and he wound up not playing. Shanahan said the hope is for Greenlaw to return for Week 7.
Odum suffered a quad contusion in Sunday’s loss. He’s considered day-to-day.
-
Good luck to my 9ers tomorrow against them Viqueens in Minnesota... O0
-
Looking forward to this one.
-
Disappointing loss. Like my Raiders against the Bears yesterday, my 9ers should've took care of business and beat them Vikes...
-
We were at the MNF game. It was electric! Good win for the Vikings. That INT was amazing ;D
-
Another loss to a team that we should beat... :-\
C'mon boys, we just lost our top spot to the Seagulls in the division.
-
They went from contender to pretender ;D
-
Chase Young for a third rounder?
I'll take that trade any day...as a Niners' fan... O0
-
Got to admit, that was a good move.
-
My 9ers didn't even play but nice to be back on top of the NFC West division again..thanks to the Ravens! O0

Go Seahawks! ;D
-
That's what I'm talking about, BACK TO 9ERS FOOTBALL! O0
Purdy looks "purdy" good for a player that was drafted dead last in the NFL draft... ;D

This season just flying by. And soon the playoffs will come for Niners, hope it will not be like last year lol

Again, BACK TO 9ERS FOOTBALL!

NFL Week 15 Playoff Picture: 49ers Clinch NFC West, Ravens Lock Down Postseason Berth
Another MVP performance by Brock Purdy keeps San Francisco in contention for home-field advantage, while Lamar Jackson dazzles in a big win over Jacksonville.
-
They are the team to beat for sure.
-
Not a good outing for my 9ers yesterday but at least they are already in the big dance...
-
Absolutely not. Blueprints for taking out Niners offense has been made clear by the Ravens.
-
All good now, my 9ers' starters should just sit out this week's game... O0
-
Hope to see a much better run this time around for the Niners.

Again, BACK TO 9ERS FOOTBALL!

Should be a good one against them Lions.
-
My boys shouldn't have any problems with them Lions. The winning gap should be more than a TD. 8)

It could be the other way around as well. Your Niners were horrible for 50 minutes against the Packers.

Great come back. Looks chocked and I blame Campbell for being too aggressive and not taking the FGs.

Unfortunately, my boys couldn't finish the unfinished business today but as a faithful, I still have faith and loyalty in my 9ers win, lose or draw.

Can’t collapse like that against KC. They had it but that Mahomes just too good.
