Same thing about a viet guy named Johnny "diamond boy" dang.
He is the only viet cat that I know of that gets inside connection with hollywood rappers and kaydoo bling lifestyle to guys like mayweather. If they need diamonds in their teeth or diamond watch or diamond gold chains and what not, they go to him.
He has a youtube channel but he spoke in viet when he's on set with them hollywood rappers who needs his bling. I still no care about his lifestyle but props to him for keeping it viet though.

China Mac eats with Johnny Dang.

There's no other more popular Vietnamese-American than Ke Huy Quan today. Not even Maggie Q and those Power Rangers chicks. Surprising you never heard of him.
When he was with Indiana Jones, I thought he was Chinese. But recently it came to light that he's a Vietnamese-American and probably a boat people kind of refugee.
Google says: Born: August 20, 1971 (age 51 years), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

say what again? You think he's viet? :2funny: :2funny:
Even the Viet government disagreed with you.
""He [Ke Huy Quan] is not of Vietnamese descent, he is just Chinese-Vietnamese and was born in Vietnam. We have to make that clear," wrote one person on the BBC Vietnamese Facebook page.
"They should write very clearly that he is Chinese-American, that he used to have Vietnamese nationality! I cannot not see any "Vietnamese origin" here?" wrote another."

That says it all.
Just because his mom or dad may have been mixed or fully Chinese does not mean he is not partly Vietnamese. Of course, we say he's Asian because we want to attach to his fame. But he is Vietnamese in origin just because he was born on Vietnamese soil.
I don't take the statements by those Vietnamese leaders to be very unbiased. Obviously, they deem one who doesn't live in the motherland as non-Vietnamese just because of political
markings. In that sense, Quan is American. But we are referring to birth origin here.
Michelle Yeoh may also be Chinese blood but was born in Malaysia. She deems herself Malaysian, even though the world's over 2 billion of Chinese take her as Chinese. Malaysians take her as Malaysian. In America, we take her as Asian-American or simply as Asian.

In a 2004 TV interview with a Shanghai channel, Yeoh said in fluent Mandarin that although her family lived in Malaysia, she still saw herself as “Chinese” above all else.

If I was born in hmong land, I don't call myself hmong. I am what my DNA tells me what I am. O0

He said it himself that he grew up chinese.
QUAN: I grew up with very traditional Chinese family values.

It's not a mistake to take one who is born in Ho Chi Minh City to be of Vietnamese nationality. Even many of us Hmong
accept that we are Laotian nationality because we were born in Laos.

We're in a diverse society now. We can't limit our relationships to our own only, bro.

So now you are here in America, would that make you hmong laos american? How that is going to work? :2funny:
If I'm black and born in saigon, that would make me black vietnamese. Since I am here in the America, I would then be Black American. O0
Keep learning bra. It'll make you younger

This Tien Kieu SE is doing it right: acknowledging Quan's birth natinoality.
Few can say what he says and can do what he does.
