Dismissed by critics and devoured by fans, “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was the top box office film in 2014, bringing in $1.1 billion, with more than three-quarters of those dollars coming from overseas. ViacomCBS’ Paramount Pictures, which distributed the computer animated action-fest, saved much of that money by licensing the international rights through a complex strategy designed to avoid paying U.S. taxes, according to a study published Tuesday by the Centre for Research on Multinational Corporations, a nonprofit group funded in part by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is common practice for multinational corporations to take advantage of tax shelters. The report offers a rare look at how one company has pulled it off.

A group of fishermen netted a $1.5 million whale vomit windfall after dredging up a 280-pound hunk of the stuff. A 35-man fishing crew in Yemen netted themselves a hunk of whale vomit worth $1.5 million. Ambergris, known as "floating gold," is a rare substance found only in the bellies of sperm whales.

YouTube food challenger kicked out of restaurant, accused of being a scammer

YouTube eating sensation Raina Huang visited StevO’s Pizza n Ribs in Aurora, Colorado, in order to film herself tackling that restaurant’s OMG 28" eating challenge for her YouTube channel. Huang and a friend planned to conquer a 28" pizza within an hour; the prize was not only a full (and probably sore) belly, but also $100. And of course internet fame. But the owner, Steve Wieand, wasn’t buying it. He accused Huang of being a professional competitor and a scammer, and he kicked her out of the restaurant, allegedly using profanities while doing so
