Scientists say that alcohol forms acetaldehyde that both “damages your DNA and prevents your body from
repairing the damage,” Dr. Esser explained. “Once your DNA is damaged, then a cell
can grow out of control and create a cancer tumor.”
“If somebody drinks less, they are at a lower risk compared to that person who is
a heavy drinker,” said Dr. Farhad Islami, a senior scientific director at the American
Cancer Society. “Even two drinks per day, one drink per day, may be associated with
a small risk of cancer compared to non-drinkers.”
Past research that showed that alcohol was good for health came out of studies
involving people who were active in exercising, etc.
Now, it's clear that any level of alcohol is bad.

I would take these 'experts' with a grain of salt... depending on who's funding the study, they'll find info to push their sponsors' rhetoric...
