Having children is a big responsibility if not the biggest for many folks so can't blame the newer generation(s)...Took my wife and I couple years to try for one after carefully researching it. We were on the fence for that amount of time because we knew how big of a responsibility it is to have children. And yep, we are still good with just one O0:
South Korea's Population Disaster Is Coming
Threats to South Korea’s survival are not only from the North. Even as Seoul seeks detente with its communist neighbor while engaging in an increasingly bitter row with Japan, the nation’s demographic decline could see its economy facing a similar structural slowdown that puts a permanent brake on growth.
The challenge facing Korean policymakers was highlighted by a recent government report, which showed that its falling fertility rate could see its population start declining as early as 2020.
Previous estimates in 2016 suggested the population would peak in 2023 under only the most pessimistic scenario.
Released in March this year, the report by Statistics Korea predicted South Korea’s population could peak at around fifty-one million this year, before dropping to the 1972 level of around thirty-four million by 2067 under the most pessimistic scenario.
Seniors aged sixty-five and older would account for nearly half the population by 2065 under even the medium-growth scenario, making it the grayest developed nation in the world and potentially threatening its military capabilities.
In contrast, immigration-friendly countries such as the United States, Canada and Australia are seen having a quarter or less of their populations who are sixty-five years old or older over the same period.
South Korean women are clearly having fewer children, according to the latest figures, with a fertility rate—the average number of children born per woman—dropping to a record low of 0.98 in 2018. This was lower than Japan’s 1.43 and well below the estimated “replacement-level fertility” rate of around 2.1 for most nations.

Like the saying, "Children are our future", and if any country believes in this saying they need to invest instead of putting the burden on families alone. Ex: Free medical coverage to pregnant women regardless of income will probably encourage more women to have babies.

China's population is 1.4B. India's is 1.3B.
Those two countries want to invest in their futures. You tell them how they should take over all of their families' burdens, Dok.

For now India and China are OK in the babies statistic but for future not sure because in China there's a shortage of girls as boys are preferred which resulted in a shortage of brides and Chinese girls are not easily entertain w/ the idea of just marrying anyone. In this generation these ladies are more interested in a career, education, and making sure the guy is loaded w/ cash i.e has a home, a job, etc..to entice them to marriage. Of course men from the countryside get the short of of the stick so they resort to girls outside of China and this created booming illegal marriage scam that affected neighboring countries like Laos, Vietnam, etc.. Besides that, Pres. Xi of China has a strong desire to alleviate poverty in China and his campaign is doing well/making differences for poor community across China. This is a welcome/hopeful change. Not sure about India.
Every country has different challenges when it comes to baby statistic. In Korea, Japan, and other developing country like USA, $$ is the heart of the issue. Medical cost skyrocketed which makes it difficult for families to have children or even afford to think about having children. Take care of that and we'll see increased in birth.
Also, Andrew Yang $1k per month will definitely help w/ marriage, babies, and more. ;D ;D ;D So let's hope he becomes Pres.
