Nice Gen 1 Tacoma you got there Reporter, thanks for sharing! O0
I know for sure it's an automatic because the 2001-04 double cab with a manual is non-existent.
-
BTW, my first brand new truck was also black and it does shines the best when cleaned O0 but also shows dirt and dust the fastest... ;D:

Speaking of Gen 1 Taco, this little guy is the most reliable and dependable auto I've owned for 5 years or more over the years O0:

Not a Tacoma but the new 2022 Tundra looks pretty sweet in photos IMO. Big overhaul re-design since 2007 O0:

To be honest, I've owned 5 Toyota trucks over the years (1980, 1984, 1993, 1999 and 2005) and they've been very dependable but if I had to pick one, it would be the 1999 when the factors are over 5 years of ownership and/or over 100k miles driven...
My current 2005 Taco had 180k miles when I bought her a few years ago and now has about 215k miles so hasn't quite met the criteria yet but I have no doubt it'll be in the same boat as the other 4 trucks when it reaches the 100k mile driven mark... O0
Took these photos when I replaced the original clutch at the 200k mile mark and yep, when it comes to maintenance job that requires good amount of time and labor such as replacing the clutch, I'm willing to pay more for OEM parts as I'm pretty sure the new genuine Toyota clutch should last another 200k miles if not more.. I have a Ridgeline. AWD is great and I haven't had to do much in repairs except the usual maintenance; 250k miles and running strong;

This is my Taco... 2018 TRD Sport Cement color with 17K+ miles. I don't drive much with it because my daily driver is a 2009 Civic Coupe with 50K+ miles on it.

I have a 2006 Ridgeline and I love it. I don't rock climb or haul boulders or anything so it works fine for me. Its been used for hunting, farming(cattle), moving furniture & appliances, moved motorcycles and riding lawn mowers, traveling/vacation etc etc.. I have about 250xxx miles on it and I've only done the usual upkeep maintenance.

As long as it serves your purpose, it's all that should matter to you regardless of others' opinions.. O0
