What is gloss black, was torn in two and is expected to sell for upwards of $2.17 million? This Enzo, that's what.

Set to cross the auction block in Paris on the 3rd of February, it has previously made headlines all over the world - for all the wrong reasons.

Built in 2004, chassis 135564 left the factory painted in Ferrari's most popular color: Rosso Corsa. In 2006, however, it was involved in a serious crash in the United States, where it infamously split in two on the Pacific Coast Highway at around 260 km/h (162 mph)!

After that incredible accident, it seemed inevitable that it would be scrapped. However, it was completely repaired by Ferrari Technical Assistance Service, resprayed in a shade of Nero Daytona and outfitted with bright red leather seats.

The car also has a Bose stereo system, satellite navigation, a reversing camera, power windows and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. Despite its less than immaculate history, the rebuilt Enzo has been certified by Ferrari Classiche and has 2,500 km (1,550 miles) on the odometer.

There's no reason to doubt Ferrari's work at restoring it, but it does have a tainted history, so it'll be interesting to see how much it will sell for.

Television / My ratings of K-Drama, first one: "Fated To Love You"
« on: January 03, 2016, 11:49:25 PM »
I posted a thread a while back about my Filipina co-worker recommending some Korean dramas for me to watch since I'm not a fan of Soap.

She recommended "Fated To Love You" because it's not only sad, and romantic but also funny.

I give Fated to Love You C+.

She also recommended "Angel Eyes" because it's newer than her favorite K-drama of all time:

I give Angel Eyes B-.

And lastly, onto her favorite K-drama of all time, "Autumn in My Heart". Even though it's a little outdated, she said she could watch it over and over again.

I give Autumn of the Heart B.

Those grades don't seem too shabby from a non-soap fan.

Although those shows didn't convert me to be a K-drama fan after I gave it an honest shot, I can see why she thinks it's better than the American Soap here such as "Days of Our Lives", "The Young and The Restless", etc. The sadness and issues in K-dramas are more relevant to Asians.

Big difference between American Soap and Korean Soap from what I've seen:

1. K-dramas show very little PDA or affection in general and it takes forever for the characters to share their true feelings and affections.

2. The dudes in K-dramas sure cry a lot...Almost as much as their female counterparts.. .My goodness.

Anyways, glad I gave it an honest shot. Even though it's not my thing, at least I can form an educated opinion about it.

Here's the link to my original thread about it:

Grisly Video Of Fatal Lamborghini Street Racing Crash Reminds Us Not To Street Race

There’s a video of the aftermath of a street race between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari going viral on Facebook now, and it’s about as stark and grim a reminder of the dangers of street racing as you can get. So, you’re warned: the video below, while not strictly bloody, is very disturbing, and has what appears to be a dead body in it.

Automotive Discussion / Yamaha testing the water again??
« on: November 09, 2015, 12:53:57 AM »

If Yamaha’s appearance at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show was any indication, the renown Japanese motorcycle and musical instrument company appears to be getting a bit bored with sports bikes and pianos. Clearly, it’s no longer enough.

With the unveiling of its new concept car at Japan’s 43rd annual international automotive event, it’s all but certain that Yamaha is looking to expand its product offerings, and hopefully moving back into the world of automobiles. Because though it’s often gone unrecognized, this isn’t the first time Yamaha has strayed from its two-wheel comfort zone. Yamaha has been building high-performance engines for automotive manufacturers since 1967 when it partnered with Toyota to build the first Japanese supercar — the 2000GT.

By utilizing dual overhead camshafts, Yamaha was able to transform Toyota’s capable 2.0-liter inline six-cylinder into a seriously potent powerplant. With 150 horsepower, the 1967 2000GT was capable of reaching speeds of up to 140 miles per hour – a world-class top speed for the era.

In the 1980s, Yamaha also worked with Ford to develop an engine for its GN34 concept — a mid-engine sports car designed to compete against the Chevrolet Corvette and Pontiac Fiero. However, the project was put on the back burner as Ford shifted its attention toward the production of its new Explorer and the first SUV boom of the late ’80s and early ’90s. The GN34 was eventually scrapped, but Ford was still obligated to uphold its contract with Yamaha and find a home for the high-revving 3.0-liter dual overhead cam V6. Eventually, it found a home under the hood of the 1989 Ford Taurus SHO, introducing the world to the first true American sport sedan.

Automotive Discussion / Stupid Paul Walker lawsuit?
« on: September 28, 2015, 11:31:08 PM »
It sounds like another street racer/his/her family failing to own up to his/her bad judgment....Un less there are credible evidence to back up Walker's daughter's claim, it's all about the money  ???...C'mon, speed limit was 45MPH on that local street, the racer wannabee was doing twice that and that local street is not exactly a straight away in that area either:

Paul Walker's Daughter Sues Porsche: He Was Burned Alive

Paul Walker survived the impact of the crash that took his life but suffered horrifically as he was burned alive ... this according to a wrongful death lawsuit his daughter has filed against Porsche.

According to the lawsuit — obtained by TMZ — lawyers for 16-year-old Meadow Walker claim when the Porsche Carrera GT crashed and broke apart, Paul's seat belt "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis," and trapping him in the passenger seat.

The suit claims the fire didn't erupt for 1 minute and 20 seconds after impact, but Paul was helplessly trapped.  When the fire broke out, Paul was still alive.  The suit alleges, "Paul Walker breathed soot into his trachea while the Porsche Carrera GT burned."

Law enforcement said the cause of the crash was speeding — 80 to 93 MPH

Double Fatal Crash In Elk Grove

Two people are dead and two others are left injured after a crash witnesses say was caused by “very high speeds” around 10:50 p.m. Friday night.

A 2010 Dodge Challenger was traveling southbound on Bradshaw Road at a very high rate of speed when it t-boned a 1992 Toyota pickup going north attempting to turn on Rogers Road.

The Challenger struck the pickup’s passenger side door. The truck caught on fire after the impact and both people in the truck were ejected and killed.

One victim has been identified at 26-year-old Molly Xiong from Sacramento.

CHP described the scene as “pretty horrific.”

The 18-year-old driver of the Challenger suffered a broken arm and his minor passenger suffered a broken right leg and face trauma. Both are expected to survive.

Charges are still pending against the driver of the Challenger. The investigation is ongoing; alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out yet.
