Yes. It is as reviewers said all over the web. The GTX 480 will run most graphic intensive games, but it runs real hot. I set all settings to maximum and every test game runs smoothly. GPU temperature is in the upper 80 C to 90 C during game play with GPU clock running full speed 738 Mhz. Idle temp is mid 40 C, GPU clock is down to 50 Mhz. I have a real big coolermaster case so the machine runs cool, but the hot air really heats up the room. Would be good during winter.
There is the new GTX 460 which runs a whole lot cooler and should be able to run most of the current popular games in extreme settings. Anybody looking for a graphic card should try the GTX 460. Save money, save electricity and keep the room cool.
My monitor is only 1920x1080P 32bit. Haven't tried the gtx 480 on a higher resolution yet.
Oh I fried my 9800GTX, but I do have my old 8800gtx and my gtx 260 for sale. If anyone is interest in getting them.

The Foxconn 8800 GTX OC can go for $50, but I might keep the GTX 260 for my bro. He is just waiting for a quad CPU. The 8800 and the Gtx 260 both runs cool in my case.

I live in WI. I customize computer for multimedia purpose and gaming. The 8800 gtx is my personal own graphic card. Oh, and I took tore off the nice logo on the plast shiled so now it's a see through to the heat sink. I still plug it to my system to use once in a while because it never failed me. That is as good as it is.

Hmm this could allow me to build a gaming machine for $200.
$50 for the 8800 GTX is reasonable. Let me think about it. I really have to convince myself why I want to play games.

i will need to upgrade soon after parts for my bike.. computer fried during the thunderstorm.. mobo chip fried..

My experience with graphic card is that even with doing just word processing and simple graphic design, a high quality graphic card gives you a more accurate view of what you see. Text and image quality on screen are much better than generic card or built-in video.

How much would you sell the 260?
I resist building a game system because of expensive video card.
With your video cards, I could afford to build a game system for under $300.
I wonder if I should do it or not. $300 is a lot.
Do you have a cheap desktop that will work with one of the card?

MSI P6N Diamond motherboard
4GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800Mhz
Foxcon nVidia Geforce 8800 GTX video card
All other parts had been sold and case is not included. So not a complete desktop.

The CPU I had used with the board is Intel Qx6850 3Ghz, but for gaming, you can get a dual core above 2Ghz which will run most games available in the market.
