it's true. i've seen people who have nice cameras but their pictures are not so nice. to me, a great photographer is someone who take the most ordinary things and make it extraordinary. they create art with their subject.

LOL!  Yes...that's very funny too!  It happens all the time with these quotes...but I find that there's more with the photography ones...haha.

Here's one I think speaks perfect for black and white photos.  I read in a photography magazine by a photographer who said black and white is best for depicting anger and sadness...you know, the darker things of life and people.  Somehow her words didn't jive with me.  I'm still irritated that she would describe black and white photography that way.  I always saw it as this:

1993 vs 2013.  Remember pagers were the thing in the early 90's?  Then when you got a page, you had to find a pay phone to make your call...LOL!
