At least that's what some think. Someone dynoed the new 1.5 turbo Honda engine and it made 177 HP and 190 torque at the wheels (not at on the ground). Amazing.

The torque is what really impressed me.
But yeah... so basically the engine is probably making close to 200 hp a the crank and like.. 220 lbs torque at the crank?
That's one quick non-performance sedan.

Wow, I just watched the video... and....
I'm glad I traded my Si in then...
That would be super embarassing and annoying and a big slap in the face to the 8th and 9th gen civic si owners....
And even with the economy mode on too!??!?!!?
We already know the civic type R is a beast... but it kinda don't look good...
Although the new Si' won't be nothing near as powerful and as fast as the type R, I'd hate to see what the new Si can do, it'll probably be like... just killing it...
And now... as we can see.... HOnda has done what alot of us HONDA "fanboys" knew and thought would happen if Honda started making turbocharged cars... everyone of us thought that if honda started making turbo cars that their turbo cars would be blowing away the competition.

Honda competes in the Hot Hatch battles. They have seriously been outgunned for the last decade. The upcoming Civic SI will be nice but hoo-boy the new Focus sorta' took the thunder away.

It's probably a pretty small turbo that spins quickly. I'm sure that most of the torque was made b 3000 RPMs. Plus I bet you that 1.5 liter doesn't rev that high either.

Well...I don't think this car is suppose to replace the Si. From rumors the Si well have a detuned Type-R motor.

Not all cars with turbos are meant for power and speed. Haha...

Even with all the power the Focus RS has I bet you head to head the Civic Type-R well win.

Even I would hate to admit it but your right. Still only honda fan boy will pay 40K+ for a FWD then use it only for drag races.

What has gone in with the pricing if the type RS and si, they were suppose to be the affordable fun sporty cars.
Oh wells. I like the power and handling but.... Cmon now!

i'll just stick with a k-series swap with supercharger. it's fun enough.

The RS should be about low to mid 30,000 when it comes out which would put it in the same price range as the STi. Turbocharged, four wheel drive, and 345 HP - not bad if you ask me.
The Type R is said to cost 40,000. I think it's just because it's a Honda. I think people are starting to realize that Toyota and Honda have been getting away with overpricing their car because of "quality" but in reality since there's been so many recalls on Toyotas and Hondas I think people are demanding for a lower price.
Look at even the Ford Focus ST. With 285 HP with overboost and all that it has yet you can buy it for low 20,000 dollars. I don't think there's any car that's close to that horsepower, quality, and price range.
