i just kinda do this on the side
helping my local hmong community out
there's a lot old hmong folks
who don't know
or their son/daughter/family member don't want to help them.
so they call or ask me for help
mostly its just relatives, but now it kinda of got spread out
i will come install your wifi, antivirus, set up email and investment
anything you need

got an old hmong lady last week
who went to visit her relatives and saw them watching hmong tv
(we in wisconsin no hmong tv here)
and really want to be able to watch it too
when she ask them how they able to watch it
no one tell her
she ask me a couple of days ago for help
i got her a brand new roku
already download all the private hmong channel apps
set up all the account, just plug and play
i will go install it at her house later this week

help this recent hmong brother college grad who wanted to start investing for retirement
don't know where to begin, got some money in his saving account
we open up a roth ira,
FDEWX (we only do index cuz you can't lose) with fidelity $2500 minimum to open
he's already up $135
i show him the account a couples day ago
he told me he only get like $5-10 per year if lucky on his saving account

are you tracking the index (like the s&p 500)?
we don't buy individual stock (really risky, short term only)
we buy the whole stock market (index), because it tend to trend upward in the long run
you own all the stock
also pay attention to the fee and expense ration
that will eat up your gain in the long run

Right after Trump got elected, the stock market have been going up and up. People who have 401k should see substantial gains. I track the stock market and saw that my 401k went up $10k-15k+ on good months and $2500-$5k on slower months. The indexes were at an all time high but it's leveling off right now. I believe the market is correcting itself now. It's still good to put your money in technology (Nasdaq).
