Title: flint-rod, I think spending 50 bucks' worth protecting something that cost 1000

Given how easily pick-up truck tailgates can be stolen...liter ally in a matter of seconds, I bought a lock for my Tacoma's tailgate. Do you have a lock on yours?  ???

Here's the cheapest alternative from what I've seen...Use a hose clamp and grind off the head so the thief can't unscrew it:

Sure like other things, if the thieves want it bad enough, they can still find a way to steal it but it'll be more difficult...

i thought about buying a locking tailgate handle like yours but my hard topper is sufficient... it's a locking flap gate which locks the tailgate as well... however, if thieves want it bad enough... our locking mechanisms will make it more challenging but not impossible for them to steal... lol!

Yep, if you have a hard shell then that's just as good. My soft top doesn't lock so I had to get one.
