a friend told me that if you have a fruit tree, spread the left over charcoal ash on the root of the tree as fertilizer so that your fruits can be sweeter. I have an apricot tree in my yard and we also have a bbq pit out there as well. I'm going to try it and let ya'll know next year. :D
