These type of people irks me. SMH. ::)
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A tip to a poachers hotline has resulted in charges against a southern Minnesota couple who investigators say were found with nearly 300 crappies after fishing on Fairmont's Lake Sisseton.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the possession limit for crappies in the state is 10.
The Star Tribune reports that 70-year-old Isouvahn Xayachack, and his wife, 60-year-old Chanhthone Phongsim, are charged with possession of fish over the limit. They face possible fines and orders for restitution that could total up to $3,000 if they're found guilty.
Minnesota Conservation Officer Dustin Miller says the case is an example of how anonymous informants under the Turn In Poachers, or TIP, program can assist in protecting state resources. He says the anonymous tip was strong because it was immediate and included solid information.

Name sounds Laos
Cal tip hotline is a joke here in Cali. You can hardly get through and when you do, they'll say they don't have any agent available at the time.
Best bet is to snap their pix n roast them on Facebook and someone out there that cares enough to rattle them our.

oh, crap!!!
-
that's too bad they got busted...sound s like a lifetime ban from fishing. these old folks didn't know any better, due lack of English skills, they probably didn't understand too well of the verbage in fishing laws, even i have hard time understanding. but most importantly, they were probably intimidated by the DNR/Law Enforcement to search and seizure (should have told them to go get a warrant).

I wonder how big those crappies are.
-
True. If only it was closer, I'd go get my breakfasts and dinners every weekend.
Great they just gave out the couple's secret spot!!! ;D

Last year I almost got ticketed for crappies, too, but didn't.
Thing was...you know like when you buy a consevation license instead of a regular license and with that you could fish all season but take only half the daily limit? Yeah. That's what it was.
I didn't want to spend much. I just needed the right to fish. So, I bought a conservation license only.
Then my friends said we should go to Marsh Lake. I knew it was a great lake.
At last minute I decided to go online and get the regular license. But I only bought it and didn't print a copy.
So, the 10" crappies at Marsh Lake were biting like crazy on every catch.
Limit was 10 max. Both possession and catches per day.
By the time the two dnr guys came by, I was already putting 7 on my chain.
I had only a copy of the conservation license with me.
They found that I had the right to fish in the state. But then...
"That's overlimit, so you've got to watch for that, too," the older officer said to the younger one.
This was an embarrassing moment because everyone on the dock was watching and listening to the conversation.
"I just switched to the regular license yesterday," I said. " But I don't have it with me. It was late and I didn't print it."
"In that case, we call the administration to verify, " he said to the intern.
A call was made.
"He has two licenses?," the officer said to the operator on the phone. Then he listened for a bit... "Ok. Got it. Thank you, Maggie."
"You can get a refund on the conservation if you want, " he said to me. "Just call the headquarter and ask them about the process. But you're ok today. No overlimit."

In Cali, 25 total combo with pan fish or blue gills.
One harvest per day but they take it home and go back for more. Hmongrock beating the system style
-
In North Dakota, you can store as many as you want at home. But you can only keep a limit per day and then possess twice that amount per trip that's more than one day long.

Too complicated. My friends and I eat on the spot and take the limit home with us.
I'm going ocean fishing again later today and I told myself if I catch, Im giving it away.

Not sure what the law is in your state. So, whatever is legal...
In Mn, if you give crappies away, you can only give 10 a day. Another person will have to wait another day for you to give her 10. Kinda like...will have to starve for the night.
