honestly, I don't listen to kwv txiaj so I can't understand a word he's saying. Plus, what's the meaning and why do they do it?
-
Oh my goodnieeee.... it's not kwv txiaj ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'll help you but you need to learn Hmong culture (why we do things the way we do) because sooner or later you're gonna need it.
Txiv Xaiv is usually needed at hmong funeral and his role is to teach the children (of the deceased) how to be a good person, have a successful life, etc... Since the deceased cannot be around to teach the children these things, he represents the voice for the deceased. This is why when you listen at such event, the txiv xaiv would say, "Your father said....etc..."....

oh. okay, so why the song?

He does the teaching through the song(s). Here's another example:

He's saying something like your father has a good burial place and from now on you will rise to be leader, etc.. etc... It's teaching for the tsev xyom cuab to have a good life, be prosperous, ua neeg zoo, etc...
