Makes me think ... when you're married and trying to date/cheat, you'll find someone and you think they're perfect and they make you want them, but when you finally divorce your spouse and marry them or move in to live with them, their bad habits start to show and all of the sudden, you regret divorcing your wife or husband for that other person. That's pretty much the gist of many of her stories. ;D
-
I hardly listens to her stories but once in a long when I do, I like listening to her soothing voice and storytelling style. I'm starting to see a trend that hmong people are jumping on the storytelling bandwagon for making $$ on youtube vs. making movies.
Here's an idea....we see Lao Hmong making videos about Lao. How come we haven't seen a Hmong Mekas making videos about America. I'm sure oversea people might be interested in that. Just a thought.
-
yeah, I think its that calm story telling voice. Does she talk like that in real life?
-
No idea who she is in real life. She introduces herself as "niam so and so" but hmong people have such common names so not sure ;D ;D ;D She's good except I don't have time to listen to her stories. When I do, I prefer to do other things.
-
She's here. People here run into her now and then, here and there.
Her husband is Ntsuab Teev. So, she always mentions that she is Ntsuab
Teev's wife, just so perverts don't stalk her, I guess.
They look pretty good together.

She emphasis that she's married but I'm sure there are plenty of pervs out there who still hit on her. Some people have no shame. ;D
They probably think they're much better than her husband, but I'm sure after hearing all these stories about being divorced and being fooled by guys, she's probably smart enough not to mess with guys who compliment her, but I'm sure that's not stopping them.

I think its funny when she's telling the story and can't keep herself from laughing at some of the lines so she just cracks up and have to stop. ;D
-
I have listened to just one of her stories after meeting the couple. Just to confirm that she's famous on youtube like said so by those at the meeting.
But a friend told me that May Vang cracked up a lot and almost couldn't continue the story in the story about a smelly a guy was to a divorced woman who has dated him for two years...He wouldn't brush. He wouldn't shower. At first, the divorced woman got into his car and thought it was the car that was smelly but it turned out that it was the guy, etc.

My wife and I had a good laugh from the story about the divorced guy who tried to date and the smelly women he dated. :2funny: :2funny:

So, May Vang covers all bases, huh? One story about a smelly man and another about a smelly woman.
Friends say she also told about a very unromantic wife who kept asking if their bills had been paid yet, that while they are on each other having sex.

I love her soothing sexy voice. And she's really pretty, too!
She's a good storyteller. I listen to her all the time.

Depends...plus there are society where you can "marry" multiple spouses so a "divorce" is not needed...

I heard a story about her. I couldn't believe!
People were wondering when she's going to tell her story anonymously.
We all have stories to tell. Stories that shock everyone just like the stories she's been telling.

That's nice, sir.

May Vang is a great storyteller. I admire her ability greatly.
From what I've heard of those who know her well, this is her 2nd marriage. Her current husband was once a txiv mos ab. Not that it makes them any less of a person.
I too look forward to her life story someday. We can all learn from her stories.
-
I know!
I'm just surprised you didn't use the word 'primitive' this time, when describing those societies with multiple spouses. Have you really changed or is it because this time, the statement supports your opinion?

2nd, third, doesn't matter. As long as people find happiness, I'm fine with that. Your life, your choices.

It depends. :2funny:
-
Does she rehash old stories though? I've heard some, then I hear another story later on that sounds almost the same but with some minor differences in details. Or is it just a dejavu thing? ???
-
I used to listen to that guy HmongBedTimeSt ories but I haven't listen to him in awhile. Seems like the stories are the same over and over every channel. I mostly enjoy the orphanage and long lost love stories ;D ;)

I'm NOT "surprised" that you continue to crawl back to prove me right after crying "ignore"..I know, I know, it's the foam...And I agree with the previous statement that it IS "nice"... O0

You do realize that you just dug yourself a hole with you agreeing that it is "nice".. Now it all DEPENDS on what YAX meant or was referring to when he used "nice".

When dealing with theKing, you have to look at the motive of his responses. His motives are generally not related to the actual topic, it's more along the lines of:
1. Angry response. -name calling, repeating a previous argument he's lost, totally out of context "no land", "foaming", "Trump's.." etc
2. Trying to look smart even when everyone else can see that he has nothing to contribute to the discussion because his ideas are flawed. - using the universal response that would apply to almost any situation: depends. or "love it" with quotes from others
3. Just trying to get the last word in on a thread he killed off by hijacking it with his crude comments that's aimed at bullying other PHers. -Pretty much every thread that ends with him having the last word in.
What else?
-
I'm hungry......oo ops, this suppose to be about may vang stories.
I enjoy listening to her. Nice voice/laugh and some good stories people sent in for her to tell.

After listening to a bunch, I come to realize that most of her stories are tragedies. Frustrating sometimes, sad most of the time. I guess that's what most people want to hear so they'll feel better about themselves.

4. Facts beat ignorance. But theFAking is actually using ignorance to try and beat FACTS.
5. Saying that others have a reading comprehension problem - but he is actually showing that he is the one with reading comprehension problem and is ignorant of its meaning.
-
6. Deny - when proven wrong and have can't come up with anything to defend his argument, deny anything the other person said, then pretend like they never presented anything.
7. Become a broken record player - repeat the same thing over and over again. This isn't not so much as to get the last word, but he literally can't come up with anything anymore, mainly due to being ignorant in a lot of things.
8. Do and/or say things for show. It's an attempt to be seen as better. A lot of times this isn't an attempt to convince others, but more to convince himself. This is why when the criticism is towards him, he is quick to swing to
-

"You do realize that you just" become even more of an EPIC FAIL with more reading comp issues...

When dealing with the YAK, you have to look at the motive of his responses. His motives are generally not related to the actual topic, it's more along the lines of:
1. Making ignorant claims like "no land in the Bay Area" then when proven wrong with factual evidence that there are still land available, he foams badly instead of taking ownership of his wrongs and learn from it and then...
2. He make up stuff like the strategy he borrowed from his fellow member (BNM) by claiming the other person said, the land in the Bay Area is "cheap" but when challenged to prove it, he just tuck and run and then foam some more...and then
3. He'll cry "ignore" and tries really hard to abide by his words but because his foam is spewing so badly, he can't help but to crawl back ...which makes him as worthless as his worthless words...
"What else?"
1. He'll solicitate female PH members feedback because he "don't know" but once they take the time to reply to him, he questioned their answers like an know it all...even though he initially said, the "don't know"...
....

Says the EPIC FAIL that continues to tuck and run for "everyone to see"...Yep, still an EPIC FAIL after getting caught red handed with NOTHING to back up his "faking" ways, not even with a simple challenge. Instead, more tantrum...

More of an EPIC FAIL, the more she tuck and run...continui ng her "faking" ways for "everyone to see"...Think that encouraging others to be honest, and stand up and speak up for themselves when something that is bothering them is "bad advice"...Continuing to "repeat" EPIC FAILURES after EPIC FAILURES and continuing more tantrums with NOTHING to back up her made up "faking" claims like a "broken record player"...
