Title: We didn't have much option back in the day but in 2021, gotta go digital
Post by: theking on March 09, 2021, 02:17:35 PM
When I worked as a pizza delivery person, we were only allowed to carry 20 dollars in change in case we get robbed or something but some of those runs to multiple customers, we can have a couple of hundred dollars in our pockets so it's easy money for the robbers.

Fast forward to today, I think food delivery services should really think about just going digital. Sure it'll cost the customer base to shrink but it's a lot safer than carrying cash IMO..Hopefully his bike is covered by the employer  ???:

'My Turn to Get Robbed': Delivery Workers Are Targets in the Pandemic

Manuel Perez-Saucedo was making his last food delivery of the day in Brooklyn one evening last fall when two men on a motorcycle trailed him for several blocks and then passed him.

But when he stopped his electric bicycle outside his destination on a dark street minutes later, the men emerged from the shadows. One had a pistol.

“I knew it was my turn to get robbed,” he said. He remembered picturing his 2-year-old son while the men took his bike, which cost him about $1,600. “I didn’t want to leave him without a father.”
