Title: Sure both are federal employees but the Doctor makes more than the Leader
Post by: theking on April 05, 2021, 04:35:38 PM
The most recent documented data on Fauci’s salary comes from the public spending transparency website OpentheBooks.c om, which uses information from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. The current numbers are from 2019 when Fauci earned $417,608, making him the highest-paid federal employee at the time.

But multiple media outlets quote the National Institutes of Health as saying Fauci is now paid $434,312 — more proof that it's possible to land a job that pays well in the federal government.

By comparison, the president’s salary has been $400,000 annually since 2001.

Federal employees don't get paid as well compared to the same positions that are non-federal. The highest band and step is only 143K and not considering any other benefits. For example, they might get paid extra if they live in a high cost of living area. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/salary-tables/21Tables/html/GS.aspx (https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/salary-tables/21Tables/html/GS.aspx) Here is a website where people post salaries. https://www.levels.fyi/ (https://www.levels.fyi/) Most of those are tech related, but a similar position in the federal government will be paid significantly less. My guess is that people at Dr Fauci's level is on a different scale and get other incentives, but most government employees get paid based on the table from the link above.

Them military generals have always been paid more than the Presisdent... :-X  cuz every officers get's more than just their base pay.

However the former president's continual salary will top any military general, cuz you still have to serve to get paid.  While ex-presidents just continue to collect free paycheck without serving any official duties.
