No, I like the brand w/ the 3 crabs....and that's about $.9.99. That brand is the best tasting fish sauce and is always the more expensive brand. Prior was $4.99 but never this high. I'm appreciating my fish sauce more. Those brands you have...are OK.

Cool, you only live once so better live life to the fullest and get the things you like even if it's two to three times more expensive..
This is why I don't mind paying for Wagyu and USDA Prime grade meat because I'm enjoying and living life to the fullest. O0

I am little surprised that it cost "$9.99" in your neck of the woods considering the low living cost in WI... ???
Perhaps, it's a small mom and pop shop that needs to mark it up that much just to stay afloat?
Or the extra cost to get that product to be delivered to middle America compared to coastal states that are much closer to shipping ports and docks and such? ???

It was a hmong store and probably overpriced but still the price has gone up from $4.99 to now cheapest is $7.99. I'm cherishing my fish sauce now :)
The other day I was visiting the same Hmong store and 5 pounds of Rambutan is $24.99 and other place is $14.99 while at an American food store is $2.99 a pound.

careful if not franchise, they will get you on the inflated pricing and blaming it on the china/usa import export fiasco.
or perhaps the owner of the shop just lost a ton of money off gambling so they need to recover fast to pay the rent.
my local mama papa grocery store guy is a sport bookie. He has a room in the back for illegal sport gambling. Lots of people going into his store but no one buys anything. When he makes bank that week, you can see him and his wife at the casino, spinning them slut machines.
I remembered collecting from him a few times, his face was not all that happy. Did not even raise his head to look at me in the eye either. He hates it when i come in to collect from him but taunts me when I lose my marbles off. :2funny:

I can see that as they need to pay their overhead expenses too to stay in business..

I've tried the more expensive brands like Red Boat to the cheap ones and have not noticed much difference in terms of taste and satisfaction so I tend to stick to the middle of the pack when it comes to price:

Not sure if y'all doing this but my people would recook the fish sauce to make it better. Restaurant quality is cooking your fish sauce raw b4 you add stuff to it to get that savory taste. So my people cooked the fish sauce by the big pho pot n repour it into the bottle for later usage. They don't tend to expire so there goes our quarterly supply of fish sauce.
