Why going below a quarter tank can cost more than a fill-up
Letting your car get below an eighth of a tank increases the odds you'll damage your fuel system. To be on the safe side, refill by the time you're down to a quarter tank. Each time you fill your car's gas tank, you end up adding some particulates and sediment that settle at the bottom of your tank
So DON'T BE THAT GUY!!!

Depending on your vehicles. Some has the fuel pump inside the gas tank. By having enough fuel in the tank, it cools down your fuel pump and prevent it from overheating.

but we have sump pump system in the basement
there water in the ground
it helps keep your basement dry
