Title: Should company hire base on skin color/genders or merit?
Post by: Hung_Low on August 12, 2022, 02:08:38 PM
The Lefties/Demmies/Pro-@ssives/Libbies all think companies should hired base on skin color and gender... not merit.

If I own a business, I want to hire the best and brightest and not base on gender, sex, skin color, social status, etc. etc.

I want to be hired base on my merit, not my skin color too... I would not want to be hired to just filled the diversity quota. But that's just me...

Should be base on experience for that position.

Ultimately, we have to hire someone who can do the job we want done. The law supports that.

Diversity advocates require that the company put in the efforts to seek those qualified among the colors and not just take the easy way out of what's available to them at their front door or who their friends are. Advocates aren't saying Discovery has to hire just any Black to diversify its workforce. A non-qualified Black just won't have the support of the law. A qualified Black is needed.

But what do you do if you have two equally qualified applicants but they come in different colors? If you reject the White candidate just because the Black is black, wouldn't the White applicant have a discrimination claim?

Like how it's not a good idea to support a Hmong candidate simply because he/she is Hmong, an employer should hire someone because he/she qualifies regardless of color, sexual orientation, religion, etc., of that person without any prejudice, bias and/or discrimination, period.
