When it first happened; Leftie talking heads, MSM, alphabet crowds all screamed hate crime, result of GOP/Conservative rhetoric, etc etc etc
But as we learned later that the shooter identified as a nonbinary, using they/them... these screamers all of a sudden either went silent or trying to spin it. NYT wrote a hit-piece where they listed both his parents with troubled pasts and both as Republicans... :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
CNN even went as far as claiming that the shooter's lawyer is only using that to get out of the 'hate crime' charge.... :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
Kristen Prata Browde, a co-chair of the National Trans Bar Association, said that a suspect’s gender identity should have no bearing on whether they can be prosecuted for a hate crime in the Club Q shooting.
“The motive for a crime isn’t dependent on whether you are or are not a member of a protected class,” Ms. Prata Browde said. “It legally has no significance, as far as whether the actions of this individual fit within the law regarding hate crimes.” - so, in her words... a person of one race can be tried as "hate crime" for the murder of his own race.
More info... he's being charged for 5 counts of first degree murder and 5 counts of "bias-motivated crime" - noticed the changes from "hate crime" to "bias-motivated" when they learned that he's nonbinary and uses they/them.
