2.1 million EVs and plug-in hybrids on U.S. roads, and here’s how much gas they’ve saved
All those electric cars have saved 690 million gallons of gasoline.

With all that saving... shouldn't gas by a few cents per gallon? It's great that we saved millions of gallons of gas but we burnt millions tons of coal and natural gas for the electrical grid to support those demand. Coal and natural gas make up 60% + of all electricity generation in American and around the world.
adding one electric vehicle is "increase a house's power consumption by 50% or more," The New York Times reported. A fellow FORBES contributor notes, "Adding an electric car on the grid is equivalent in some cases to adding three houses."
EVs sound so nice and environmentall y clean but people always forget or ignore the sources that are used to generate these power for the EVs.
