Of course it has to be diversity too... Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, her bios states she's an 'Equity Director' Mass Gen Hospital and Harvard Med School, appointed to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee which served til 2029.
I find it ironic that her name is Fat-i-ma :2funny: :2funny:
according to this expert: Obesity is in our gene... genetics is the number one cause of obesity and food and exercise is just a little slit of the pie (she made a little pie shape with her hand). So, if you're born to parents that are obese, you are 50-80 percent likely to be obese even with optimal diet, exercises, sleep management, stress management, etc etc.
Hmmm... I'm NO obese expert but I think the main reason why obese parents raised obese children is because of the food environment they grow up in. I mean, if the parents' fat due to the kind of food they eat, they will passed the same food to their kids. Their lack of exercises will be instilled unto their kids too.. It's not genetics... maybe genetic does play a role too but I believed it's very very small compare to the food intake (amount and what it is) and lack of exercise, self control... If genetic is the case then I would not get fat at all if my parents are thin even if I eat junk food and do no exercise at all.
She goes on to claimed that 79-90 percent of physicians in the US have significant bias against heavy (fat) people... she's basing this on a patient coming in and telling the doctor that he/she is eating well and getting exercise but can't lose weight and the doctor questions him/her on it. She then claimed doctors do not understand obesity. She's also leading and praising the intuitive eating movement - a movement against diet culture that dictate you should eat what you and your body want. "If I'm looking at what my patients eat, I do have them think about what their body needs. We want to listen to our body. It's so bad that even NYT wrote a piece condemning it... saying "But listening to your body may be flawed."
Now, we are going to have people like her, who strongly believed that exercise, nutrition and lifestyle are secondary to genetics, shaping our gov't nutritional policy.

. That’s the thing with Conservatives. They like to make fun of others. Kind of bullying while trying to be the more serious and Conservative. I can understand if liberals make fun of others because they’re viewed as the immature group but when conservatives do it, that’s out of character if they want to be the authoritarian group. Why throw that line in? Doesn’t it only weaken your argument?
