Shimatsu was very familiar with Kamala's family, particularly her Indian mother. He was educated at Berkeley, lived in San Francisco, and was very much a contemporary of her mom. He was connected to a classmate (Jeff Adachi) of Kamala and knew of her poor grades and how she was going to be kicked out. Then the classmate was found dead because Adachi knew Kamala was tied to the cartel.

One reason I'm a staunch conservative is because MY VERY OWN COUSIN IS AN ATTORNEY, and she was assistant to the district attorney of one of the biggest cities in the state for many years.
