If you're feeling the burn of higher egg prices then it has a lot to do with your state's political leanings. Of course, I don't expect blue voters to accept accountability for the negative impact they cause the rest of the country. I mean, have they ever? These are people who like to keep doing the same thing and push the idea that throwing money at the bad idea will make it better. :idiot2:
In addition to the bird flu and Bidenomic inflation, many blue states have passed laws that stores must only sell cage-free eggs. Currently, many egg-producing facilities aren't outfitted to be cage-free so there is already costs to do so. It will also mean an egg shortage until such facilities meet regulations.

About a third of U.S. egg layers are cage-free hens, but they contributed nearly 60% of all bird flu cases for the year.
Not only does that mean the supply of cage-free eggs is down everywhere — which, as explained above, leads to higher prices — but it also has implications for how quickly supplies can recover, which are unique to cage-free eggs.
Already there are fewer sources for cage-free eggs. On top of that, in places where cage-free egg rules are in place, it can be tricky for retailers to find new suppliers that comply with whatever regulations the stores are required to follow.
So if you're in one of these states that only allow the sale of cage-free eggs, expect to pay higher.

I buy from local farmers so I don't feel these prices. I'm talking about all the complainers, particularly those in blue cities and states.
Btw, the Amish in Pennsylvania played an integral part in Trump's victorious win. Their eggs already are cage-free but that wasn't good enough for the Democrat politicians, who harassed Amish egg producing farms about getting the proper licensing and permits. They messed with the wrong Amish farmer this time.
Everyone should hear the story about Scott Presler and how he registered the Amish to vote.
