Title: Do Conservators really conserve??
Post by: theking on February 13, 2025, 11:11:52 PM
Republicans finally reveal how they'll pay for tax cuts for the rich

House Republicans Aim to Gut Spending and Cut Taxes (Mainly for the Rich) by $4.5 Trillion
Economic growth should take care of the almost $3 trillion deficit that would result, right?

released Wednesday by the House Republican caucus contains no concrete details, but it codifies a GOP strategy that should surprise absolutely no one.

In parallel with the mayhem playing out in the Executive Branch, the House lawmakers aim to gut agencies Donald Trump disfavors, boost spending for those that align with his agenda, renew and extend the 2017 tax cuts that enriched America’s most affluent—his latest proposals all told, by one estimate, would raise taxes on all but the top 5 percent. They also pay lip service to the deficit even as their proposals will increase it significantly, perhaps as a way to build political consensus for cuts to programs like Social Security and Medicare.

That article coming from Mother Jones, a known Left/Dem propaganda media... Read the red highlighted part above. If you continued to read the article, it's nothing but GOP bashing...

Republicans have already targeted Medicaid, the national health insurance program for the poor, by proposing work requirements—which evidence shows are little more than a cruel tactic to purge people from the rolls. How is it cruel to get able body to work? I know a lot of people on Medicaid and welfare that are perfectly fine but just don't want to work... I mean, why would they work when they can get free money and healthcare from the gov't?

Going after Social Security and Medicare would be messing with America’s seniors, who are relatively wealthy and politically engaged, driving up their health care costs. Hmm... So, Trump's tax proposal to eliminate social security tax is benefitting the wealthy, huh. Since he/her thinks majority of America's seniors are wealthy and politically engaged.

Yeah, you should read the author's other article... Why Did Trump Really Win? It’s Simple, Actually another GOP bashing, Trump hating excuses why Trump won.

Like I said, you can't trust these bias media... from both side. They will skewed the article to push their propaganda and we've seen it done over and over during the current election, etc etc even going as far as meddling in election like what C-BS did with Kamala's interview.
