Consultant who slapped director on the bottom denied it ... until CCTV showed otherwise
A consultant denied slapping his female colleague’s bottom, claiming she “was not his cup of tea” before he was presented with CCTV footage of the incident, a tribunal heard. Gerry Skelton accused Joanne Attridge, a senior executive, of lying because she thought “every man with a pulse had designs on her”. Not realising cameras had caught the moment he twice slapped her bottom before leaning in to bite her earlobe, he added that she was “not his cup of tea” and would not “make his list” even if there was a “shortage of women”, the tribunal heard. The hearing was told he accused the business development director of “setting him up” because he had not supported her bid for a senior role overseas. Mr Skelton immediately resigned when confronted by investigators with CCTV of the incident and blamed his behaviour on free alcohol provided by the company.
