Title: True for many of us enthusiasts
Post by: theking on September 12, 2025, 12:15:34 AM
The automotive landscape has been rapidly evolving over the last couple of years and things have changed drastically. One area where purists have found themselves feeling a little somber is transmission, with the manual transmission becoming harder and harder to find, even in high-performance cars. With there being clear benefits to automatic transmissions, whether you’re driving a little hatchback or a high-performance sports car, plenty find themselves wondering why the manual is so beloved. Ask any enthusiast, and they will tell you that it gives them a better connection with the car. To explore what this means, we take a dive into how transmissions have evolved and what makes a manual so engaging. We also see why the industry has put so much focus on the shift to automatics.

I used to think that but now I prefer auto w/paddle shift. Maybe back in the 80s and 90s the manuals were more engaging to drive. I've done several road courses and auto is fun when you can shift.  O0

Nothing wrong with that as not everyone is built the same so individuals having different preferences is all good.
