Former News Anchor Stabs Elderly Mom, Charged With Murder in Alleged Crime
Former news anchor Angelynn “Angie” Mock has been charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed and killed her elderly mother. Police responded to a “reported cutting” at a home in Wichita, Kansas around 7:52 a.m. local time on October 31, according to a Sedgwick County Police Department (SCPD) media release shared on Facebook. Once police arrived at the scene, Mock, 47, was found standing outside of the home. Authorities entered the residence and found Mock’s mother, Anita Avers, “unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds.” Avers was taken to a local hospital, where she died at the age of 80 soon after, per the release.
